Good morning ladies, I hope everyone is feeling better than I am I am trying to beat this cold but it is winning.
Happy Thursday. Todays questions are all about the rehearsal dinner.
Has anyone booked their rehearsal dinner? Where are you planning to have your rehearsal dinner? Will it be the night before your wedding? What special or unique things are you planning to do (i.e, slideshow, special gifts besides the wedding party, etc)?
we are going to have our RD in a rest. and then i will give out gifts and also have a grooms cake for FH,.

A slideshow would be cool, I'll be giving out gifts, have a grooms cake. We'll probably have it in a restaurant.

Yeah, I have no idea how to even answer my own question. FH's mom has been asking me about this and I am trying to postpone any of the planning for awhile because we have so much time. I know we are going to have it in a restaurant near the church/hotel, so it will be the night before. We are going to do a slideshow and I can't wait to put it together. I may do a groom's cake for FH to surprise him. We will give out our bridal party and some parent gifts. I kind of wanted to do a mini cruise from The Oar House, but I am not sure how expensive it is even though I know the owners.

I haven't gotten that far at all! But we'll probably do it at an Italian reasturant and i'll give out gifts then. It's going to be the night before the wedding that's all I know.

Re: QOTD 1/17
Since we are having a small wedding upstate and most of our family hasn't meet, we are going to have a BBQ the night before so that everyone can mingle and at the least get to know eachothers face so that it isn't arkward the day of. Nothing big just burgers, dog and a few sides. We are going to have it in his brothers backyard and invite everyone.
I want to do something very casual and laidback so I am thinking of send invites that says something along the lines of “put on your best flipflop and join us for burgers, brews and a few how you dos.”

Re: QOTD 1/17
We haven't booked it yet, but I was thinking of doing it the weekend before our wedding. Our RH is right next to the restaurant that owns it so I was thinking of doing the rehearsal at the RH and then walking over and having dinner....only thing is the restaurant is really expensive...dinner for 2 is about $120....so to have 16 people to feed, plus if the grandparents want to come..... that is a lot of money...but I guess that if both parents chip in and we chip in it won't be too bad......but that would be my ideal.
The restaurant is gorgeous so it would be a great time!! As for unique things...I guess giving them their gifts and I would give our parents their gifts too....

Re: QOTD 1/17
We were already told by our priest that the wedding rehearsals are on Thursday nights.
Our rehearsal will be pretty easy. We only have my sister as the MOH and FH's best friend as the BM. There is a small restaurant on the corner of the street that the church is on...literally a five-minute walk. So we're planning on just having everybody walk on over after the rehearsal. It's just going to be immediate family, so it won't be anything spectacular.
although I am liking the idea of a slideshow!

I LOVE this!
We're having a BBQ/pool party for our e-party. Would you mind if I use your idea for our invites?
