9 years ago today ~ on 12/18/00 I went on the first date with FH! So in honor of that (I'm sure this question has been asked before)


Describe your first date with FH



We were actually set up for a blind date through our friends. I went away with my friend to Disney and we met a guy from Babylon (we lived in Dix Hills) My friend and him hit it off and they cont to talk when we all got home. At the time fh worked at a country club with the guy from Florida (they were childhood friends) my fh needed a date for the holiday party....I Was his blind date.
They picked us up in a limo & he was throwing money around like crazy and being 17 I loved it! Now if he tried doing that I would be pisssssed. The party was a lot of fun and the night ended. To this day I still cant believe my mom let me go to that party on a school night. I actually made it to school on time too. I wish I could get my hands on the pictures that the place took of us. It was def a crazy night & by far the best first date.

Our first date was Thanksgiving break from college. My BFF was dating his roommate and we went on a double date to the movies.

We met in the Hooter's parking lot ( after talking online/phone for like a year)..I scuked it up and decided to meet and hoped he wasn't a rapist serial killer. And then we went to Chili's for dinner and that was about it. No kiss goodnight or even a hug lol. I think he thought I wasn't interested but I just wasn't sure what to do.

I was a senior in HS and Mike was a sophomore in college. In December 1999, my mother sat me down one day and asked me “How would you like to meet a 19-year-old from Nassau (community college)?” My response: “How do YOU know a 19-year-old from Nassau?”

My mother explained that she was referring to one of her co-worker's sons. Now normally I would NEVER have gone through with this, but I figured I’d do it appease mom. I asked her to get me a picture. So she and Mike’s mom exchanged pictures of us, and phone numbers, and a week later, when I was putting up the Christmas tree, he called me for the first time. He asked if I’d like to get together for dinner one night, and I responded with 'Let me check my schedule.' He immediately took that comment the wrong way and made the first of his many sarcastic and inappropriate jokes to me. We set up a date for the following weekend, and agreed to bring friends along to help with the awkwardness.

We met the next Saturday night (December 18, 1999) at a TGI Fridays with friends by our sides. After dinner, we went to a local pool hall. He hated me on our first date, I had a great time. If you ask Mike about our first date, he will tell you that the only time I looked him in the eye was to tell him 'I hope you dance, because I don't date anyone who doesn't dance' (I don't recall this, AT ALL).

Needless to say, I called the next day to thank him for everything, and here we are 10 years later and we're getting married in just over 5 months!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I just had the worst day ever and was suppose to go on a date with a guy from my economics class (fh). I didn't want to go but figured a drink or two would do me some good. Well we ended up driving into the city to see his brothers band play. I was under 21 at the time, so FH's brother got us in. Then his brother kept giving me all these drinks. Well I got WASTED...I mean to the point that I literally couldn't walk. FH had to carry me to the car. Then I passed out. Then I threw up. Finally I get home and my father is all annoyed that some boy got me drunk. Well I thought for sure he would never call me, but he definitely did as the rest is history.


also just to add....i haven't eaten pesto for 5 years now.

in the beginning i would have to say that we spent most of our time together, hanging out with friends. i was only 16 & FH was only 17, not much we really could do. however, for our first date we went to the diner with another couple (my friend who was dating his friend) & then after we hung out at my house.

it was Saturday, March 18, 2000, & i remember because i had to watch Saturday Night Live that night because The Rock from wresting was guest host & i loved him. to this day i still tell FH that if i ever meet The Rock i am leaving him.

It was so odd and wonderful at the same time.

He picked me up, walked me to his car, and opened the car door for me. I was caught off guard, and I thought that he wanted me to drive his car...so I walked over to the driver's door . We went out for coffee, and after he paid, I realized it was a date. I found out a few months later that he did not know if I wanted it to be a date or not. In fact, he doesn't even drink coffee--he just took me there just in case the date bombed! Luckily, it did not.

Then, we walked around town, and he gave me a tour since I just moved there. We sat down at a park bench by a lake with swans in it. Sounds like a romantic scene for a kiss, right? Well, I was hoping he wouldn't kiss me because there were bugs EVERYWHERE. We had a good laugh though.

He drove me back to my place, walked me to my door, gave me a hug goodbye. I pulled him back and kissed him. We've been together ever since.

FH and I went to High School together. ( We graduated in 1993!) We hadn't seen each other since. We remet on Myspace four years ago after both of us joined our Alumni site. After speaking online and texting back and forth for a few weeks we decided to meet up. So the story began

Well our first date was in the winter of 2001, about 6 months before we actually started dating him... he asked me to dinner, but thats how he was he went on dates with everyone... lol literally 3 of my friends went on a date with him before i did... manwhore... he didnt sleep with them... as far as i know... lol

anywhoo... we went to Donovans in Woodside... greatest french onion soup ever...

when we started dating that july we never went on dates... we just ya know...

we were both paralegals at the firm i still work at now. he was off from work one day and emailed me from his home account asking if i'd be interested in going to see his friend's brothers' band play in the city that night. so... that we did

our fast date was a week after we met at a sushi place in queens called sato.
it was a little weird for me cause we already had our first kiss 5days before and i wanted the dinner to be over with so i could get to 2nd base

so after dinner we went back to his place. watched my big fat greek wedding with some 'green tea'. turns out i passed out passed out on his bed 5mins after the tea!!!!
i woke up the next morning feeling like a poopoo head. oh i was still dressed

The best part of the story is that we met a week earlier at a Halloween party, and he called me at 3am to ask me out! I was like 'call me at a normal hour' and he called the next day at like 6:30pm and then we went out!

We went to an Italian restaurant for dinner and then he walked me home...pretty normal first date!!

Romantic as all ways...

We met up at Madison Hall and danced and drank and the night was just too surreal for me. I really can't get into it (work right now and my boss is pacing) but honestly, every night there after got more and more amazing...
