So Its New Years Eve and Its actually FH and I anniversary of when we started dating (4 years) so my QOTD today is. After you are married do you plan to still celebrate that or will you just celebrate your wedding anniversary?
I know a girl who wants gifts on both those times and I think its kind of silly. So I plan to just celebrate my wedding anniversary...

Re: QOTD 12/31
I know this sounds corny but FH and I celebrate what we call love days (i.e. day of our first date, day of our first kiss, day of our engagement, etc). On those days we just snuggle in bed a little longer or dance to our song in our livingroom. Sometimes we do a card or dinner. We decided that our 'ultimate love day' (i.e. wedding) is when we will celebrate with a gift but the other days are still special and we write them on all our calendars.

We will still celebrate our dating anniversary but not in a big way. It just seems kinda hard to let go a day that we've been celebrating for almost 6 years.

every year for our 'dating' anniversary we go into the city and see the tree, spend the day walking around, sometimes see a show and go to a nice dinner. no gifts though anymore... we would just rather spend the day together. and i dont think this is something that we will stop doing for a long time.. its just too special to us.

i thought about this too!! we've been together for eight years and it will be ten total before we get married...so our original anniversary date will be hard to forget...but while the original date remains special to us, our wedding date will be even more special :)

I think we will. We still say happy anniversary on the date each month. FH is very romantic so I dont think it will stop when we get married

great question Stacey!!!
Jackie and i started dating on 3-23. for our 2 year anniversary, i made a scrap book type thing with all things related to 323. i took pictures of gas prices... any license plate i could find.. i paused a game of pacman when the scores was 3230... etc. everytime i look at the clock and it's 3:23, i text her 'it's 3:23!' lol. some of you may remember that my 323rd post, i pointed it out to Jackie.
that being said... i will never forget 3-23 and will always celebrate it. i wish we could have gotten married on that day.

Same here :) Every month on the date we always wish each other happy anniversary - even though it's kinda chessy (and our friends and families think so too!) I love it.

we will just celebrate our wedding anniversary. but since by time we get married our dating anniversary will have been celebrated 10 times we will probally just remember it but nothing too extravagant.

i thnk that we will just celebrate our wedding anniversary. we really dont even make a big deal of our dating anniversary now, so i cant imagine making a big deal about it when we are married.

Re: QOTD 12/31
I def wouldn't expect gifts on both days....but like a lot of people on this site we have been together for 10 years, so it would be strange to just go through that day and not acknowledge it.

Re: QOTD 12/31
i think maybe for the first years we will probably still do something for our dating anniversary, like go out to dinner or something, but our big celebration (gifts, etc) will be saved for the wedding anniversary.
im sure after a few years we will end up just celebrating our wedding anniversary.

We will probably just do wedding anniversary, FH can never remember our dating anniversary anyway, so I can't try to get him to remember two dates
