QOTD 2-21-14

Some brides have had their wedding planned out since they were little girls and knew exactly what they wanted and others never gave it much thought. Which bride are you? Is there something you really wanted to do for your wedding that you aren't able to for whatever reason?

I never thought about a wedding until I was engaged, but once I started the planning, everything became crystal clear in my mind how I wanted things. The one thing that I would really love to do/have for my wedding is to have my dog there for the ceremony! She is a huge part of our lives, we rescued her together when we had only been a couple for 5 months (I guess that was a sure sign we were meant to be). I just don't see logistically how I can get it to work

I'm in the same boat - we have a yellow Lab and a Yorkie - they are like our children. I would love to have them dressed up for our wedding, but there aren't many people I would trust to handle them that day.

QOTD 2-21-14 - Long Island Weddings

I was never a person who had my wedding planned. I never really started thinking about weddings until FH and I became serious, and all of my friends started getting engaged and married. Then I started thinking. I wish we had a larger budget so that we could have a band, and invite more people. Otherwise, I think I'm good with what we have.

And of course, I would love for my family dogs to be there too... my parents are upset the have to go to 'camp' for the wedding weekend and can't take part.

Exactly, there is almost nobody I would trust to handle my bulldog (she's a stubborn pooch!)and she can get loud if she decides she doesn't like the look of someone. I would not want her to scare any of my guests! I still want to figure out a way to at least get some pictures with her, but that would require a lot of assistance from the people that kennel her, and they are a good hour from where my parents live and the wedding will be

QOTD 2-21-14 - Long Island Weddings

For years my best friend/MOH and I would sit home on Friday nights, drink wine, look at bridal magazines and plan our imaginary weddings together. Some things that I thought I wanted for my wedding changed once I actually started planning. The main change was that I always wanted to get married at a vineyard but it was too expensive. I thought I always wanted a band but instead I got a DJ and in my head/on my pinterst boards the girls were in purple dresses but I changed it to navy blue.

I also would love to have my 2 dogs incorporated in the wedding/ceremony but realistically it's not a good idea and would be super inconvenient for us and our guests lol. FH and I rescued our 2 dogs together and they mean the world to us so I might put their pictures on our sweetheart table but that's the only way they're going to be there lol

Re: QOTD 2-21-14

I never thought about my wedding until FH and I started talking seriously about getting married. The only thing I had ever envisioned about my wedding was getting married at the parish I grew up in, and even that's not happening!

The only thing I can't have for my wedding that I REEEEEEEEEALLY want is pictures of us with our cat after the ceremony. That can't work for many obvious reasons, so since we won't be seeing him at all that day, we're naming our signature drink after him and we'll have his picture on the sign.

QOTD 2-21-14 - Long Island Weddings

I always had bits and pieces of ideas of what I wanted, like a lace dress and who I wanted as my bridesmaids/MOH and stuff like that. But 99% of my wedding was pieced together after the engagement..

I actually would have loved a destination wedding and wanted get married on the beach somewhere tropical. My FH and I love the water and the summertime-we are both met as lifeguards-and I thought it would be a cute way to tie in our relationship in a way lol.. but he really wanted to get married at the church my parents and his parents were married in. Both families are huge too and we knew that it would be impossible to do a destination wedding since we would have to invite so many and didn't want to make anyone feel like they had to spend a whole lot on traveling and whatnot.

My FH promised that we can renew our vows in the Caribbean one day though lol :)

QOTD 2-21-14 - Long Island Weddings

I hadn't really thought about a wedding or getting married before I met FH. One thing I always envisioned, however, was my father walking me down the aisle, and I'm glad that he will be able to do that despite his health issues.

I would have loved to have a band at the wedding, but we chose a DJ due to our budget.

I love that idea! What a cute way to incorporate him into your day. I never thought of wedding planning at all until I was engaged.

I would really have loved to get married in September to enjoy the outside and get married in a church.

QOTD 2-21-14 - Long Island Weddings

I never thought about a wedding until I was engaged. Growing up, I was the girl always into sports and hanging out with the guys. When I went away to school, I just wanted to be with my friends and have a good time. I was the girl that was either single and not looking for ANYTHING or in a relationship.

Once I met FH I had a feeling that would be it. I never envisioned anything other than having an awesome party where my family would all be there to celebrate with me. I'm kind of glad it worked out that way because I have no expectations or anything, only things that FH and I have planned together.
