QOTD 2/10/14

So today's question is inspired by the fact that I am home sick from work.

I've been feeling so run down lately, and I totally have no one to blame but myself. I haven't been eating healthy and I am def slacking when it comes to exercising and taking vitamins. I am lucky if I hit the gym 2x a week and I never take any vitamins anymore. I just can't seem to stay motivated and it's stressing me out lol. Like I know my wedding is less than a yr away and I bought my gown, why can't I get it together...

So I was wondering what are you ladies doing to get fit and healthy for your wedding?

Thanks!

I have been going to the gym more often (this last week I took a break) and I am trying to not eat as much junk food as normal. Even though I normally don't eat that much. My cousin is a cross fit trainer down in Norfolk, so she tends to keep me motivated.

I have a bit of a control issue when it comes to what I eat, I try to write everything down just to help hold me accountable. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but for the most part I tend to give things at least a second thought before overindulging. I also am trying to get to the gym at least three times a week. So far so good, I've actually gone more since the beginning of the year then I did for the first 6 months of last year so I guess that's good.

It's not easy to get in shape and I don't know about all of you but as I crept out of my twenties and into my thirties it's only gotten harder...

I joined the biggest loser contest with some friends and friends of friends back in November bc I couldn't get motivated either!! I lost 25lbs 3 years ago and over the last year gained 15 almost 16 of them back I was so mad but couldn't get motivated! So I did the contest through ALL the holidays and lost 9.8lbs by Jan. I did that all basically by getting back into eating right, reading smaller portion more frequently and little exercise and by exercise I mean taking the stairs over the escalator hell I'm sure shoveling all this damn snow helped! Lol
So in a effort to try to get motivated to go to the gym or use my treadmill I joined round 2 with the girls that did round 1. But working 10-11 hrs a day with an hour and a half commute and getting up at 430am everyday I'm too tired to workout. But hopefully my hours will die down soon so I can start the treadmill a few days a week. Id like to lose 13 more. Id really like to be able to order a size 16wedding dress. It was so exciting to be able to zip up a size 18 at David's Saturday!!! But I have a funny feeling they run more true to size then most bridal places. But we shall see at my next outing this weekend!!

I recently joined a yoga studio just to try to get a bit healthier since I eat like crap. I don't need to lose weight so I figured low-impact yoga would be good. FH however has lost over 100 pounds in the last year! I couldn't be prouder of him! he followed a strict high-fiber diet, eating every two hours throughout the day and never after 7pm. Now that he's lost the weight, he's doing Shaun T's T25 which is like the Insanity work out but in25 minutes a day. I'm so proud of my future hubby!

I have a terrible sweet tooth and so don't eat as healthy as I should. I have been trying to cook at home a lot more to be healthier and save $$$. Luckily, I am naturally tiny but I know my bad habits will start catching up to me soon!
I have been going to the gym for a while with a few friends and absolutely love it. I do get a bit off track during school breaks though. We mostly go to cardio and toning classes, so much fun! We usually make it a few times a week. Sometimes I try some other things to mix it up, I used to go to pilates 3x a week with FMIL and did hot yoga over the summer with FSIL. The studio recently started offering aerial yoga, so we want to try that soon!

I will probably start becoming more strict about what I eat and how much I exercise as the wedding gets closer. FH has gained a bit of weight that he is trying to get off, but he isn't as motivated about working out as I am. I keep reminding him that I want to take e-pics in June!!!

Congrats to your FH! That really is amazing. I love food too much so I don't think I could everrrr stick to a diet even if I needed to. I will have to have my FH look into T25, he tries to do Insanity now, but I think it is too much of a commitment for him. Maybe something shorter would help :)

FH and I bought a groupon for Team Extreme Boot Camp in Ronkonkoma.. We did our first class tonight and I am pretty sure this is going to whip my butt into shape. I try to run but it's been so cold and gross out that I haven't gone in a while. We also signed up for a Tough Mudder in June so I am hopingggg by setting fitness goals it will keep me on the right path at least up until the wedding!

I am having a hard time getting motivated. I always said that as soon as I had a ring on my finger that would be enough motivation. I do really well for a few weeks then one bad week throws me right back off track. I did personal training in the past and did amazing but unfortunately there is no way I can afford it right now. I need to be at my goal weight for the wedding and I am having a very tough time getting started. @Michelle- I thought about doing Team Extreme but I am so out of shape right now I am afraid I wouldn't be able to handle it and would make a fool out of myself lol. I can't wait til the weather gets warmer I might try and walk/run a few miles a day. Its soo hard! LOL

Totally Agree and I am so glad I am not the only one!! I always have some excuse I was like as soon as I get engaged, then it was as soon as it's the new year...most recently it was as soon as I get the dress. Now i'm engaged, it's 2014( a yr and half after being engaged) and I have my dress but Im still in this funk.
However; I did go get vitamins today so hopefully those will give me energy and some motivation will follow shortly after

Thankx for sharing everyone, I may steal some of these exercise ideas and routines (once i actually get my butt in gear)!
