Hey Ladies!! Again I just want to Thank Mrs.Sparacino2b for choosing me to be Bride of the Week! For my first question... Let's talk about what brought us here.... The Engagement! I don't think we have talked about how our FH's popped the question so here we go....
Tell us all about your proposal. How did FH do it? When did you get engaged? How long were you together before FH proposed? Were you surprised ?
FH and I have been together since HS. Never thought too much into getting engaged until we moved in together about 4 years ago. He told me that he wants to live together for awhile before getting engaged ... understandable and I think that is very important. Anyway... Once we lived together for about 2 years I started getting antsy LOL... I spent every Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day & Birthday thinking that he was going to propose and then being disappointed when it didn't happen. LOL Everyone told me ... Christine it will happen when you least expect it. FH & I booked a Norwegian Cruise Line tour of the new breakaway ship last July... again I was convinced that was when he was going to do it because he said... maybe we can get ideas for our honeymoon. So in my head... he was going to propose on the ship. Turns out... we went camping in CT with his family for Memorial Day weekend last May. We went to Foxwoods for some dinner and gambling with everyone. Eventually we all split up and went our separate ways to different slot machines. FH & I 'lost them'... he told me that he had text them and that they were down by the arcade. So FH and I are walking around Foxwoods and we take that escalator down and there is the nice water fall there. I keep saying to him Christian the arcade is not over here. We go sit on a bench I take out my phone I start texting them Where are you? LOL nobody answers me. He gets up we start walking back towards the escalator and we are standing by the water Fall. He looks at me and then takes my hand and gave me some change. He said throw it in and make a wish. I look over at him he's down on one knee and he said wishes do come true and asked me to marry him. After FH proposed, everyone was at the top of the escalator waiting for us to come up and congratulate us. Let me tell you I was not expecting it that weekend at all... I was in complete shock. Like everyone told me... when you least expect it. :) We got engaged May 26, 2013 and we were together for 8 years!!!! Can't wait to hear your proposal stories!!

Fh and I were similar, we lived together for a few years and were together about 5 years when I started to get antsy! His solution was to get a dog bc he wasn't ready to be married. But that pup.was the best thing that happened to us, he really brought us closer. About a year later we started talking about getting engaged and married. I was given the ok to start showing him rings that I liked so I thought it was coming for a long time. Much like u I.thought every holiday or special event was going to b it. Me and a few of our friends thought fir sure it was going tohappen when we went to jJamaica for my 30th bday. But it didn't. He did have the ring I later found out for 4 months before he proposed! He was waiting for my grandma to get better she was in and out if the hospital, she was planning my mom's surprise 50th bday so he wanted that to all pass. Im glad one day he decided he couldn't just wait anymore. Lol so I went out to walk the dog while he got ready, we were going to spend the day in the hospital with grandma so we were doing the pup off at my friends to have a play date with her dog . Well when I got back from the walk he was on his tablet playing and not ready to go.I was so annoyed bc I wanted to go and my friends was waiting for us! He was like wait I want to show u something. He made a slide show of pics of us through the years on his tablet that he put on the tv. Something went wrong abs it jumped to the end......the pic is also in my album, it's a picture of him holding the ring in the ring box and around it wrote on the puc Rose will you marry me? ........Well I didn't see the words I saw the picture only....I thought he was joking and teasing me! Like haha I got the ring but im not asking yet. So I started yelling lol r u kidding me, im leaving I'm so mad right now I'm taking the dog and going to see my grandma now. He goes hold on he goes in the cabinet where he was hiding the ring and I was like wgat is that what r u doing? Lol he came over to me anwas so nervous he started apologizing for doing it this way, he wanted to do something at our favorite breakfast spot with my parents abd grandparents but grandma is still the hospital and I want her to see u engaged and he still didn't ask me 'technically' lol I turn around out off excitement and said um I can't see the ring lol bc I was sitting in the bed and he was still standing. Lol so he sat on the bed to show me and then got down on his knee and officiallyasked. Lol Im glad he didn't wait anymore bc grandma passed 10 days later. But she saw me engaged and a ring on my finger and I got to see how happy she was for me.

so FH and I were dating for a year and a half when his lease was up on his apartment,He just Graduated law school and had taken the NYBAR exam, after that he had a really great job opportunity with amazing pay right down the road from my house. sooo I asked him if he wanted to move in and he said ....yes! we had talked about getting married sometimes not often though because i didn't want to push him. around 4 months later on Christmas eve in front of his whole family he proposed! I was so shocked so I cried and said yes lol.....the ring was actually his moms first engagement ring(she got an upgrade on their 25th wedding anniversary).... so a couple of months later I picked out a setting for the stone and boom I got a fancy ring :)

FH and I were together 6 years before he proposed on June 30th 2013... All of last year everyone kept saying when is he going to propose? I had finished my undergrad in January and he was in the police academy. Valentines day, my birthday, his birthday, my graduation party all came and went and I thought he was going to propose one of those days lol. Then in June a few days before his graduation his family had a party for him and he was acting weird that week and I said to him do not propose to me at your party or on your graduation, it's your day. Well he proposed the day after his party and just a few days before his graduation lol. We went to the bayard cutting arboretum and my sister was with us. She kept walking behind us and I didn't know why. I was getting annoyed because it was so humid and I kept getting bit by bugs and just wanted to go home.( I later found out he wanted to propose here lol)... We went home had dinner and then it was cloudy and drizzling rain and he was like let's go to the beach. And I really didn't want to go but we did. We walked to the lighthouse and I asked him if we could sit before we walked back ( he had planned on doing this but I made it easier for him by saying I wanted to sit lol.) then he said he had to tell me something. He told me how much he loved me and how happy he was to have me, then he got on one knee and asked me! Poor thing his hands were shaking putting the ring on lol.

Re: QOTD * 2/16/14*
FH was doing an internship in the DC area this summer. He promised we would be engaged before my birthday, so I knew it was coming soon (we were celebrating my bday while I was down there for the visit!). He wanted to propose at a park that he always went running in, but I didn't want to go to the park that day. He ended up proposing at the WWII memorial. It was so beautiful at night with all of the fountains and lights. He originally was going to do it at the botanical gardens but they were closed before we got there! While proposing he told me how he loves having adventures with me and can't wait to have many more adventures together. He forgot to get down on one knee though! We were both sitting on the steps near the fountains when he asked me and my first response was 'you're not even on one knee!' and nudged him down! haha. It was a beautiful time to propose and I was glad that no one saw it happen because I have always been scared of a public proposal. Afterwards we walked over to the Lincoln memorial and he told me that a few days earlier my ring had gone on an adventure. He had taken a run at the National Mall and photographed my ring with a bunch of buildings/monuments, so his plan is to put those pictures in an album for me with pictures of us from that night. Still waiting for that album...haha.
We made it to the metro station just in time to catch the last metro to his apartment. But for whatever reason, the metro had come early and so we missed it! We were waiting by the tracks for like 15 minutes and finally a woman announced that there were no more trains for the night (we had asked her on the way in if the train was coming and she said yes! what a liar!). I didn't know what we were going to do (of course I was crying at this point), he only knew a few people in DC and none of them had cars because they were in the city! (He was about a half hour away). We ended up calling a taxi but they didn't take credit cards! Luckily I had about $42 in my purse, so we were watching the meter and freaking out the whole way back to our car. When we got to the metro station where our car was, we gave the guy all the money we had but we were a few $ short! We ran to his car and had to scrounge around for change to make up the few extra dollars we owed! How embarrassing! I think the driver was just happy we came back with the money instead of taking off. At least we have a memorable story :)

Re: QOTD * 2/16/14*
FH and I worked together almost 10 years ago now. He was a waiter and I was a hostess. I did not like him. I thought he was a cocky know it all. At the end of the summer and my last night working before I went back to school for my senior year, it was very quiet in the restaurant. I was chatting with someone about going back to school the next day and he mentioned that FH just transferred there. So at that point I told him if he needed anything let me know. (I never thought I would see him again)
I walk into my first class for the semester and guess who is in it! FH! So I went over and sat next to him. We were both dating others but our friendship grew. We graduated college but still kept in touch. About 7 years ago now we finally bit the bullet and started to date one another. We moved in together last year around New Years. We have spoken about marriage and knew it was the next step. But we both financially were not in that place yet.
When I got hired at my current job, we started to discuss going back to Oneonta (Where we went to college) and Cooperstown. When we finally booked it I had a hunch that this is it. He is going when we were in Oneonta. It totally makes sense and I loved it. Well we spent a night in Oneonta, walked around the campus the next day which would have been a beautiful setting, and then we got into the car to head to Cooperstown. I was so bummed... I was wrong.
We get to Cooperstown and we are walking around the town. FH is telling me about his family and how they visited often when he was younger... blah blah blah... he then takes me to Otsego Lake and starts telling me this story about council rock, and that was when he got down on one knee and asked me. So now here we are 5 months later, we will get married next year on Feb 21st. I am one lucky lady to have him!
