QOTD * 2/17/14
So today I am home from work only because I took a vacation day to be with FH since he is off. Working in Healthcare you really don't get many days off. So for those of you who have the day off hope you enjoy your day!! :)
So I think today I am going to be proactive in some wedding planning. Was thinking of looking more into wedding songs- First dance, mother/son, father/daughter etc... So my question for you today is what are some of the songs you plan on having your DJ play at the wedding for some of those special moments... Here are some of my ideas
Bridal Party Intro- We like Give me Everything by Pitbull. We like songs that have meaning to our relationship. In 2011 FH & I went on a cruise and this was the song of the summer and just brings back great memories for us.
First Dance- Not sure if we want to go with one of our songs that has always been our song since the very beginning... I don't wanna miss a thing by Aerosmith or Amazed by Lonestar or go with something more current and country.
Father/Daughter- I really like I loved her first by Heartland.
Mother/Son- This song has to be really special. As I mentioned in some of my posts FH mom suffered a brain aneurysm 2 years ago and she almost didn't make it and now she is in the nursing/rehab facility that I work at doing much better. It is going to be really special for him to have this moment with his mom at our wedding so we have to find the perfect song... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ;)
Cake Cutting- We really like I wanna grow old with you but FH isn't sure because his brother and his wife did that song at their wedding. He kind of wants every aspect of our wedding to be different than his brothers.
Bouquet Toss- Def. want to do Single Ladies by Beyonce.
Garter Removal- Strokin by Clarence Carter LMAO--- this song has been an inside joke with is family since the very beginning but it is very embarrassing... there is a dance to it that FH does and it is hysterical. I think everyone will laugh but I know I will be blushing! HAHA Going to have to really listen to the song and find the cleanest part.
Garter Toss songs- Not sure yet.
Last Dance- Thinking something upbeat like The Time by Black Eyed Peas.
As far as music throughout the day we like fun stuff that our guests will sing a long to the whole time... like fun boardy barn music- Journey 'Don't stop Believin...', Living on a prayer'... all that fun stuff!! Can't wait to hear some of your song picks!
