1)describe the experience you had the first time you met FH's family?
and the wedding related question
2)If someone gave you $10,000 but the catch was you had to spend it on your wedding what else would you get for your wedding?
1) I was nervous to meet FH's family because my ex's family didn't like any girl because no one was good enough for their little boy so I didn't want to have that same experience again. When I met FH's parents they were the sweetest people ever. Then one day we went for a walk and FH kept talking about the water tower and how we're going to climb it like his dad did when he was younger. I was getting so nervous and then FH said we had to go through this persons backyard to get to it. Now I'm thinking to myself who am I dating, he's goes through people's houses and climbs up water towers what the hell? So he sneaks down this persons driveway and all of a sudden runs to the door and rings the bell and this sweet old lady comes to the door. It was his grandma! FH knew I get nervous meeting new people so he said meeting his grandma should make me less nervous then the thought of sneaking through backyards and climbing water towers. After that meeting the rest of his family has been a breeze and they treated me as part of the family even before I had this ring
2) I would spend the extra money on the bigger room at Fox Hollow so I could invite all me 2013 brides to the wedding

The first time I met FH's family they drove us to the airport for our vacation to Orlando...how embarrassing. 'Hi...I have never met you but I'm the girl going on vaca with your son!!' After that though I saw them a lot but it was still weird!
If someone gave me $10,000 I would get the chair covers and linens I want, invite some 2013 brides, and definitely add the dinner show I wanted to add ( not sure if doing this yet or not).

I would book another hall maybe Oheka or Bourne mansion or even the Dowling mansion. Those would be my dream location!!!!

1) Omg, my first time meeting my fiance's family was pretty funny. It was a Wednesday night & I had a voice-over class, so the plan was that I'd come over about 7:30 and meet his Parents & his Sister. WELL, I get a call as I'm about 15 minutes away saying that he didn't know until he got home from work that his Uncle from Las Vegas just got in to NY for a visit and his other Uncle & Aunt were over as well. Soooo I kinda yelled at him because it's one thing to meet a new BF's immediate family... but last minute meeting Aunts & Uncles??? AHHH!!! haha but every thing went really well!
2) I'd get a DOC & photobooth!!!

1) This is funny. I was 12 when I first met FH. We dated once briefly in Freshman year of high school, so I was about 14 or 15. The first time I met his parents was one day after school when we were dating and he brought me to his house for dinner. My mom was working late during tax season, so she couldn't come pick me up until around 8:00 on a school night. She rang the doorbell and FH's dad answers with a pipe in his mouth. She says, 'I'm sorry it's so late!' He said, 'Yes, it is.'
My mom didn't see him again until FH and I started dating as adults... about two years ago, even though we've been friends all this time. She never forgot that story and was always scared of him. Needless to say, he doesn't remember, lol.
2) This is a great question. Can we apply it to the Honeymoon? If not, I'd keep all my vendors, and get all the awesome add-ons, including a photobooth, a string quartette and I'd pay for all my BMs dresses, hair and MU.
Ahhh, one can dream :)

The 1st time I met any one in FH family was unfortunately when his dad got admitted to the hospital for having a stroke. It was only a cpl of months after we had been dating. In spite of the circumstances his mom was really nice and I stood there with them all day. The hospital is right near my house so I went home to cook them dinner and bring them food which his mom really appreciated.
If we were to get $10,000 to spend on the wedding I wouldn't use it to add anything extra. I'd use it to finish paying off the hall. There would be a little extra left over and I'd put toward my vendor payments. Oh how I wish I could get that $$ to pay off the hall. What a huge weight lifted off our shoulders that would be!

Honestly, I don't remember the exact first time I met FH's parents! But I do remember his mother saying (as we were leaving), THANK GOD YOU FINALLY BROUGHT HOME A WINNER! AND SHE'S POLISH!
$10,000? hmmm... Definitely a DOC so I can relax! Buy my girls, MIL's, and mother's dresses. Get all the cute little things on etsy that I love. Buy the guys a bottle of Patron and shot glasses for before the wedding. A Rolls Royce for us to and from the church. A lot of little things add up!

1. I was nervous the first time I met FH's mom. We went over there so she could meet me and had pizza. It wasn't too bad bc it was a quick visit.
2. I would hiring someone to do all of my negotiating! OR clone myself so they can work for me and I could do my own negotiating!(that would prolly be over the $10,000 budget

1.) I met FMIL when she came down for a visit to FL, where we were both living at the time. I was really nervous, but we had a nice weekend together. A few months later, FH and I visited NY and I literally met is entire family. It was a full week of traveling from house to house. It was a little overwhelming. It wasn't until we moved to NY that I actually was able to get to know everyone.
2.) I would spend the $10,000 on the hall! Pay off that bill!

I met FH parents right after I had surgery on my tooth lol. We had a BBQ and went swimming. His parents were great. I was nervous meeting them but it turned out to be they are so down to earth I was very comfortable.
I would put the money on the hall. And it would give me less stress about saving it up!!!!!

The first time i met FH's family was SO AWKWARD It was after an Honor's Convocation as an undergrad a few days before graduation. We were really nervous to meet each other's families since this would be the first and best opportunity. Got our awards, sat with each other, made fun of some friends, the usual lol. Then, afterwards, Kevin introduces me and his mom & sister were very sweet, but his dad FULLY ignored me and yelled at FH for not wearing a 'dressy enough' suit to get his awards in...then he backpedaled, shook my hand, said hi, but we were all kind of....okayyyyyyy....about it lol
If someone gave us $10,000 and it had to be spent on the wedding...tricky tricky! I would pay for the hotel rooms at the Inn, I would have Fox Hollow provide *so* *much* *seafood* at the cocktail hour, and hire David Tutera to be my DOC

First time I met all of FH's family, I went to the family xmas party and i took so long to get ready and where this nice brown dress because I wanted to look perfect I was so nervous and when i got there I remember his aunt was like you are dressed lovely but too much for this family they were all so welcoming and loving, I've certainly been blessed that they have brought me into the family since day 1
If I had 10,000 for the wedding, it would go straight to paying off the venue debt. Gosh that number kills me every time I think of it
