QOTD 2/4/09

Good Afternoon ladies!!!

With all of this uproar about Fortunoffs, today's QOTD is THIS:

How do YOU think the situation should be handled, should Fortunoff's get in touch with all of the registrants and people who have special orders to notify them of what's going to happen? Should they try to ease the minds of their customers, telling us that our registries are in good hands, and if it does close, they will help us transfer anything that needs to be transferred?

Honestly, I;m so worried right now, I'm sure my shower isn't going to be until end of march, beginning of april and the last thing I want to do is worry about moving SOOO much over. The thought of having to deal with registering again eventhough I know BBB will do most of the leg work, is so agitating because fortunoff's has things that other stores do not, it's a shame that this is all happening so close to our weddings, and I know there have been SO MANY threads on it the last few days, so I just wanted to know what you all think.

As a courtesy they should contact everyone registered with them either by phone or by sending a letter so that they can decide what to do.

Anyone that has a pending order should be refunded in full since they will not be receiving the items ordered.

Good Luck to anyone having issues with them

They should notify people.
If I were registered at Fortunoff's I would re-register someplace else ASAP, regardless of if my wedding is tomorrow or next year.

Agreed. It's so unfair that they are keeping this on the hush.

They totally should notify everyone, but they won't of course. Why would they care, what could happen, they lose our business? Its sad but true.

I am really upset. There are things on my registry that I can't find at Macys, Sears, BBB.... its so frustrating.

Plus having to move everything.

Not to mention its not like Macys is a stable company at the moment. They are closing stores all over too. Really at this time I am starting to wonder what is a stable bet that I know will still be there come my June shower?

They should notify us via email or letter!!

Regardless, I spent this morning transfering all of our kitchen stuff we registered for at Forunoff's over to Crate and Barrel. Actually at C&B most of the stuff was a bit cheaper..

Now all the china & linens we are likely transferring over to Bloomingdales in the next week or so.

Thankfully its not too much of a pain....registering is fun!!
