QOTD 3-28

Good Morning and Happy Friday!! TGIF

Lets think about drinks for today's question...

Do you have a favorite drink that you are looking forward to having on your wedding night? Are you having a signature drink? If you don't drink, we can think about food too. Is there a particular food on your menu or during cocktail hour that you are looking forward too??

I want to have some kind of punch for our signature drink... not the typical rum punch. I feel it would be nice since its the summer and we both come from warm climates.

I'm really looking forward to all the food that night especially cocktail hour because I'm a foodie!!!!!!!!

I'm not looking forward to a specific drink, but I am really looking forward to toasting FH as my husband. I can't wait to be his wife!

For food I can't wait for the coconut shrimp! Yum!

I'm not a big drinker, but we get a signature drink at the wedding. We haven't decided what it will be, I'm just trying to convince FH that dirty martini's is not our signature lol.

I'm really excited for the pretzels that will be handed out at the end of the night! love me some carbs!!

I can't wait for the chateau briand at our wedding- it was delciious at the food tasting so I'm dying to eat that again lol

I'm also really excited for the shrimp wrapped in bacon and the baby lamp chops at cocktail hour

edit: forgot about the drinks! haha... I love many mixed drinks, but I'm a cheap date and I don't really want to be remembered as the drunk bride at my wedding lol... so I'm sticking to pinot grigio :)

I want to do a signature drink, but I don't know if we will.

I'm excited for AAALLL of the food. The mashed potato bar, I mean... I can't wait.

We're trying to decide on a signature drink, but it will be named after our cat so I'm excited for that. But I'm not drinking at my wedding or else I'll get sleepy. I'm saving it for the hotel after!

I can't wait for any of our food, but I do love me some salmon, so I'm probably having that for dinner!

this post is making me drool

We're having a tough time picking a signature drink but we know we want it to be tequila based. I'm leaning towards Long Island Iced Teas or Margaritas on the rocks but those seem very basic. Might have to come up with something fancier.

As for food, I'm excited for ALL OF IT but i know sadly i wont have a lot of time to enjoy and take it all in. I'm excited for the Coney Island station since I know that will be a hit with my picky eaters. After the tasting, I'm DYING to have the salmon again too!

We had a signature drink for our wedding. It was a multicultural wedding. My DH family is from Jamaica and mine from USA & Nigeria. So we had red rum punch and orange fruity drink to match our wedding colors served in Martini glasses (great for pics). For our cocktail hour we had delicious Jamaican cocktail patties, fried plantains,Jollof rice, grilled shrimp, jerk chicken, codfish fritters, etc. added/ substituted to our cocktail hour menu. The guest raved about the additions to the standard cocktail menu. We had a steel band to serenade them and warm them up for dinner & dancing. And dinner was delicious at the NRC!

Lol - I say spice things up add your favorite dish/drink to your menu. Even something from your culture or significant to both of you will make your wedding unique :)

I love the idea! I never really even thought about that. Its so easy to get caught up reading what they offer on their menu- Im gonna ask and see if i can add a lil something in the cocktail hour.

I'm a beer girl and I'm having a hard time with what I plan on drinking at our wedding. I want to be a classy bride so I don't think a beer will look right lol but wine/champagne make me tired so I'm still figuring it out! We want to make our signature drink something purple so we're going to go out one night and do a purple drink tasting haha yay!

And I'm not really excited about the food for myself but I am excited for everyone else so eat because the food is wayyy more than anyone is expecting!

I'm looking forward to all the cocktail hour food, that is, if we get a chance to eat it. We're also having a martini bar during the cocktail hour. I'm looking forward to trying that out, but I'm behaving myself with the drinks that night!

We're having two signature drinks - The Bride's and the Groom's (since we have drastically different tastes in alcohol) :) FH's will be a mint julep and I’m leaning towards Hendrick's and tonic with a cucumber garnish or a French 75.

I'll definitely be drinking, hey it's a party right? I'm a wino so sticking to pinot.

We're having signature drinks. Angry orchard will be offered which I love. Then some kind of Apple pie cocktail and pumpkin martini. Still figuring it out.

For the food I'm excited for Swedish meatballs during cocktail hour and my ice cream sundae bar at the end.

Drink the beer, it's your wedding! Get a picture of you throwing one back and the groomsmen passed out at the bar. I love that picture on pinterest.

Some venues will allow you to provide them with a recipe if they are unfamiliar with the food b/c most don't allow food to be brought in. North Ritz prepared the dishes an it had an authentic taste!

We had two signature drinks:

The Daley Double: Daley is my new last name and we got engaged in Hawaii so it was a Blue Hawaiian with two shots of rum.

The Enchanted Rose: Beauty & the Beast was my favorite movie growing up and FH and I watch it all the time. This drink was a deep pink color and had the ingredients of a watermelon mojito!

We haven't finalized anything with our venue yet, but I'm hoping they can do this as a signature drink just w/o the banana flavor

The look goes with our colors, it would be awesome. If not, a rum punch and/or pomegranate mojito.
