Ok so I feel like my qotd's aren't really that wedding related-but maybe it's because I have other things on my mind right now, and i'm almost done with all my wedding stuff...

so anyways, i just started looking at apartments, and i was thinking about my dream home that i've had in my mind since i was no joke, like 6 years old



if money were no object, what elements would your dream home have? specific things that you dream about-what are they?



for me, its a huge yard with magnolia trees, a wrap around porch with a swing that i could sit outside and drink lemonade on, a hugeeee formal dining room, and fireplaces..

oh, and a hidden staircase-one of my friends growing up had one and it was the coolest thing ever

I defffffffffff want/need a house with a formal dining room........I also really want a great room (aka family room/den) one step down from the kitchen....oh and def a big backyard.....maybe to put in a pool or a pond with lots of flowers and trees....

I have always dreamed of a year round beach house. I have my almost dream home. A house with a waterview -with some property that I can have my garden. The only thing that would make it perfect if it was waterfront. But the taxes on waterfront is double than waterview so I am happy with what we have

OHHHH i forgot to add........u know those windows from Full house, there like octagon shaped an you can sit in them?? I DEF would love those, especially in the master bedroom so I can sit tehre and look out and wait for the kids to miss their curfew

Dream home? The shower would have multiple shower heads :) I thought this was a little excessive until I stayed in a hotel with like 6. Heaven!

A large garage and fenced in backyard. My dream home would also have some sort of cool entertainment/hand out room and a large kitchen.

A spa bathroom with whirlpool bath and all that good stuff, a HUGE kitchen with an Island and PLENTY of space.

wrap around porch is HUGE for me. and a weeping willow. i also want to live by a cornfield because i'm a freak show. the house in signs... minus the aliens. or field of dreams (including the baseball diamond)

i want a huge bathtub. i love huge master bathrooms that have a jacuzzi tub AND a big shower stall. and his and her sinks.

the most adorable nursery ever. what this includes... changes by the day. haha.

built in window seats.

and seriously... i want a man cave. except obviously it wouldn't be a man cave. FH's friends are in awe when i'm like 'i want an awesome finished basement with movie theater seats and all the home theater stereo stuff.' i'd love to get those couches that have little cooler caddy built in between the seats.

i'm very non-girly in a lot of ways.

kitchen. full of all the kelly ripa appliances.

big garden to occupy my time in the alternative universe.

neighbors with kids that will be my kids best friends.

huge backyard with awesome playscapes for my kids to play on that all the neighborhood kids want to come over to. outdoor kitchen/room to have guests chill at.

and an awesome dog who doesn't bark constantly and annoy the pants off me.

mine is a penthouse in the city with huge floor to ceiling windows and a glass staircase.
everything will be decorated in black and white with huge B&W prints on the walls.

I have been dreaming about this never happening apartment since I was like 12 LOL

Always wanted a house overlooking the water. I love the houses in California, on the hills and water/beach below them. Stunning!!! I want the beach right out back. I know some houses in California I've seen on tv where the pool goes right into the ocean.

Kitchens are big things for me (for most people- the kitchen usually sells the house). I want a huge marble kitchen...huge fridge, dishwasher!!!! (I WOULD KILL FOR A DISHWASHER- we're not allowed), an island in the middle, and counters and stools.

High ceilings.

Balcony overlooking the beach!! HUGE ROOF TERRACE

Hot tub outside and in the bathroom! Heated toilet seats. FH knows someone with this and loves it. HUGE shower with lots of showerheads and good water pressure.

Ughhh, I am so sick of my apt that was built in 1947 and is falling apart!

I also love Tudor style houses.

EDIT: realistically, I just want a huge kitchen! a shiiiiitload of closet space, more than one bathroom, high ceilings, and a fireplace would be nice. a nice porch or deck area, and a place to garden

I want a huge back yard that has an inground pool and a deck with an outdoor bar and one of those huge grills and ovens that are constructed into a stone wall.....
I want a huge ktichen with a double oven and an island....
A bathroom that has the shower heads on the wall and ceiling
I dont need a huge house (Im scared to be home alone and im scared of the dark ) I just want those elements!


o i forgot to add that i want a half brick wall and all granite everywhere lol......and a room dedicated to fh cigars and alcohol/wine! (we have waaaayy too much sitting around)

a pool and a big patio..however they will remain pipe dreams because FH doesnt want to buy a bigger house!

If money was no object our dream home would be
- designed by FI and I, we are architects after all!
- built by FI and I, that's a dream of FI's to build as much of our dream home as possible.
- Huge fenced in backyard with a really nice patio for entertaining. Enough room for a swing set for the kids and our pup to run around in.
- Nice front yard.

- 2 story with bedrooms all upstairs
- 3-4 bedrooms
- office and a playroom
- living room, den and dining room
- HUGE HUGE kitchen with a island and decent size eat in area
- ALL stainless steel accessories
- finished attic space
- finished basement for FI's Man Cave
