~~QOTD 3.26.10~~

First of, I'd like to say TGIF!!!! And now, for the QOTD:

I'm sure there are plenty of girls out there that had a vision of what they wanted their wedding to be like. And now that we're actually planning it, how different was your vision from realty?

For me, I always saw myself in a mermaid type gown but i went the complete opposite route and went for a ball gown! My colors schemes are pretty close to what I always thought it would be. But other than that, everything else seems to be in line with my vision - oh, with the exception of the budget - that's just completely out of whack! i don't know what i was smoking!!

My vision for colors is def what i had always pictured - which is funny b/c im the farthest from a girly girl and my shades include pink - sayyy whhhattt??LOL

i didnt think i would have chose the type of photog i did though - so that was a bit of a surprise.

I cant say much about dresses since i havent done that yet - but i want a fuller gown, but we'll see if that actually ends up happening.

total honesty- EXACTLY THE SAME! Same dress, same colors, FH even matches most of the qualities I had envisioned (perfect teeth, light hair and eyes- wasnt planning on the accent or the Jewish background though). Like you said though- budget is a little trimmer!

I thought I'd get married later in life but I'm glad I'm younger (27 will be at wedding). I don't kno I have career ahead of wedding. Also I thought my colors would be different but I loveee my new chosen colors!

Hmmm i guess i had the vision of a big eloborate party. I'm hoping to still have that but trying to stay within my budget!

I did picutre myself in a big ball gown; but FH has said on many times; he wants to see 'my body' LOL! and that he doesn't like the big poofy dresses; so i think i'll go for a more fitted sexy dress with a log train or something i can bustle to make us both happy!

My dress, i have not bought but i always dreamed of wearing a mermaid style and after trying it on, its exactly what i want,

My colors changed and im soooooooo sad by it. I had so many visions and ideas for my turquoise and blue wedding. But a cousin of mine used Tiffany Blue and another is using cornflower and a lighter blue. so i dont want to over kill and also do blue, as a yet, i have no color. sniff sniff

my budget went out the door, i always said im not going beyond such and such (FH and i paying everything ourselves) but i wasted all my budget on the RH. so there went that.

thats exactly what my FH said, he wants to see my body. he was like please dont wear a poofy dress, i want it tight and sexy... lol.. so mermaid it is.

I also want a long train and if i cant, i will be doing a longggggg veil

I would have to say that so far my vision seems to be right on track on what I imagined. Although i haven't purchased my dress yet..i do seem to be going for the ball-gown dresses and that's exactly what i pictured myself wearing and everyone else that has come see me try on dresses. My color scheme will also be very close as well, except for the fact that when i was younger i had everyone and everything only in pink...it would have looked like pepto-bismol exploded at my wedding...but hey i was like 10, so now that iv realized i need to tone down the pink, i think everything will go as i imagined it : )

So far I think my vision is pretty on point. The colors are slightly varied, I always wanted Black, white and another color. But so far so good.

I never really thought about my wedding to be honest. I was a total commitmentphobe so I thought I'd be way older by the time I settled down. Wish I had thought about it a bit...would have started saving like when I was 18!

So after we got engaged we both had no clue and thought about destination wedding, vineyard wedding, and were pretty set on wanting a tented reception.

I don't even know how we ended up booking de seversky lol. Completely left field.

June stayed the same.

day changed from saturday to sunday because of smaller minimum.

Haven't gone dress shopping yet but will probably go for a fitted dress since FH prefers it.

phew, budget was demolished when we booked the RH and Photog.

In all honesty, I never really had a 'vision' for my wedding. I guess it anything I would have wanted to get married on a beach (destination wedding) but that wasn't not logical for us because we both want our families to be there and knew that traveling for a lot of our guest might be an issue.

We found a beautiful RH right on the water which helped tie in that 'by the water' feel tand as far as color scheme, I first thought of doing blues but once the date was set for a May wedding the I got hooked on the green/yellow color combo.

I never really had one either. I was married before and didn't plan any of it. I hated it.

Anyway, I said Id never do it again but FH is a diva.

Let me tell you, I never thought I'd be thinking of half the stuff I am now. Like learning salsa or wondering about Latin music.

I too never had a vision for my wedding. I really never thought about getting married. The only thing I did think when I was a kid was that I would be younger when it happened (I'll be 33 when we get married).

One one of our very early dates FH asked me what kind of wedding I wanted. I told him I had never thought about it. I asked him what he would like and he is the one that said he would like to get married on the beach. I came up with Coronado and the rest is history.

What we are trying to do is keep this wedding completely us. FH is involved in everything so that it truely feels like both of us when you are there. This is super important to me.

Everything is pretty much how I pictured it. The only thing I'm surprised about is that I'm coming in under budget on almost everything (except the dress!) But thats a good thing.

as a girl, maybe i was the off girl out...but i never really envisioned my wedding. does that make me weird?

i always knew i would get married in a church, and i could see myself wearing a really pretty dress and dancing with my FH. but that's about it. i never envisioned the party, the flowers, the RH - nothing like that...

so i think the way everthing is being planned and is being executed now is going perfectly!

My vision/idea no longer exists anymore!!! The dress options I like (mermaid) does not work for my body because I have a short torso. Colors....I wanted red and now I'm leaning to berry. But then again, I had an idea more so than a vision...
