NWR - If you won the megamillions (one can only dream) would you continue working? How would you spend your money?

As I sit at my desk at work stressing out with work nonsense that needs to be completed, wedding drama, and the search for a job for next year, I think about it often. I am a special education teacher who works with children with Autism. I love my students. I would definitely continue working, but I wouldn't stress the little things. If I was prioritizing, I would buy a comfy place to live, nothing crazy and then help my parents out so my Mother can retire. After that I think a nice vacation is in order :)

Looking forward to hearing your responses today. Have a great day!!!

I think people like u are truly amazing! My fh cousin and God son have autism. I know it's not easy and the fact that you wouldn't give that up if u win the lotto, I commend you for that!
As for me I would probably switch jobs so I don't have to commute to work and only work part time. I would get us a house, house not some huge mansion. Id still look in the same areas! I would get fh and my dad new trucks for work (they both do construction) my mom hates her house and car id prob get them a new house and car. And fh dad has had his car for a while now to do we would probably get him a new one and they really need a second one for his step mom.

Such an underpaid profession and bless you for what you do!!! Wow to win the megamillions....Hmmmmm.... Let's see - I would definitely go back to school and become a teacher. Buy a father-daughter house and move closer to the in-laws so we can raise our family closer to all the grandparents and their aunt, uncle and cousins. I would still work but most likely part-time so I can pick up the children from school and be there when the hubby comes home from work. Ahhhhhh....to dream = )

Right now I'm working as a nanny since I'm a teacher who can't find a job and even got excessed from daycare for low enrollment so I probably wouldn't work. I'd be perfectly content to stay home and raise babies, even if we didn't win the lotto and we could afford it. First we'd buy a house, move up our wedding, go on an amaze-balls vacation, buy a house for my FILs and pay off my parents and grandparents mortgages. We'd also pay off FH's student loan debt. Then we'd probably invest the rest and love comfortably :)

The first thing I would do is pay off FH's, my brother's and my student loans. Then I would pay off my parent's mortgage. We would buy a house and take the whole family on a nice vacation. Then invest and live comfortably. I would be happy not working anymore.

How much are we talking? LOL. I would pay off all of our bills, get married ASAP & quit our jobs to open our own business. We've already had this discussion before LOL.
I understand why you wouldn't want to leave your students & think that is very sweet. With the money you could start your own school :)

Wow! Thank you for all of the kind words. I know it takes a certain kind of person to work with the children I work with, but when you hear a child speak for the first time in 9 years or watch a student make significant gains that we take for granted it is humbling and I could not see myself doing anything different.

I loved hearing all of your responses and each time you all wrote something, I just thought to myself, yeah I would do that too!

One can only dream!

I think about what I'd do if I had millions far too often, I'm afraid...

I'd pay off all of our student loans, buy a nice house (nothing crazy, but maybe a couple of steps up from our current budget), and give back to our families. I would definitely continue working, but maybe try to work it out where I can work from home a couple of days a week.

We can dream can't we? LOL If I won the mega millions... I would definitely pay off any debts we had especially student loans and a car loan... maybe even get a new car LOl... I would make any rennovation on my parents house they would need... my mom never wants to leave that property LOL... I would make sure it is fully handicap accessible for my brother who has Cerebral Palsey. I would also rennovate FH's parents house to be more accessible and make sure there was a 24/7 aide to care for his mom who actually is currently at the nursing/rehab center that I work at. She suffered a brain aneurysm in 2012 :( I am a recreational therapist and I love love love what I do... I help bring smiles and laughter to the faces of my residents. I don't think I would quit my job because I do find it very rewarding... It's challenging...It's hard work- mentally and physically but I feel I make a difference. Of course I would buy our dream house... help our our family and friends where we can... donate to charity and have the wedding of our dreams with no budget :)
