Finally I'm home from the longest day EVER to answer my own question.... LOL
I went out and bought a Bridal magazine and wedding planner book the very next day! But, the first major thing was research RH's. I never knew there were that many on LI alone!

We got engaged in August and by September we set up a joint savings account. October was our e-party and our search for RHs started in October as well.

the first thing we did was look at RH's. I heard great things about the Inn at New Hyde Park and went to check it out two weeks after we got engaged! I think two weeks after that we booked it!
