i went with my FH to pick out my ring. before we started shopping he told me my budget and tol dme to shop for what i liked. i would report back to him, lol, every once in a while and let him know what i liked and showed him. what we both liked went into the yes pile.
eventually i stumbled upon the Veraggio rings. They are designer rings just like Scott Kay and Tacori and they are breathtaking!
I found 2 i liked for different reasons so i asked them if they could custom make my ring from parts of both (check album for pics, my camera doesn't have the macro/flower setting )
so my ring cost about $12K but was appraised for $17K
my ring has 1 carat worth of diamonds on the side and on the prong. and the center stone is 2 carats

We picked it out 2 weeks ago. And they were bringing diamonds in for him to pick one. He's doing that tomorrow.
I dont think he'll officially ask until April (so he keeps saying) he says it has to be 'after baseball season starts'
if its during a yankee game i'll say no lol

My FH actually went out and picked out a loose stone first before it was set. My center stone is 2.01 and it's a Hearts on Fire Ring with close to half a carat in side stones.
It's my profile pictures, so you can check it out.
The ring was 30K and appraised for 35+ w/o the setting.

I know how much it was appraised at b/c we had to put it through insurance. It was appraised at $26,500

I have no idea nor do I care. I told FH I don't want to know anything about how much he paid for the ring because it's not important to me.
All I know is the ring is 1 carat stone in a platinum setting.

i know how much he spent on it because i saw notes he took on it when talking with the jeweler, but i haven't had it appraised. i haven't had it appraised.. i know that the jeweler sent a form with the ring that had information about all the ring specifics- should i take it to be appraised elsewhere???

the only reason why we got it appraised was b/c we got the ring insured and they needed the appraised value. otherwise, i dont think you need to...

I have no clue at all! I know its 1.4 center stone and .25 on the outside, but thats all I know. He has all of the appraisal info and he is putting it on the insurance himself so I don't find out. I don't think I want to know though, I'd probably get mad that he spent too much. I would still love it if it was CZ and cost $40

same here - i have no idea and his dad is an insurance broker and did all the appraisal stuff so i havent even seen that paperwork.. maybe one day i will find out but no idea and it doesnt matter all that much to me

if you got a big MACYS, they will appraise it for you, if you don't know anywhere else to go. if not you can go to the jeweler that sold it to you.

I think that is soooo sweet!
I dont know exactly how much my ring cost, but i know it was a 4months of Him working crazy overtime to buy it for me. I love it ! It's perfectly me, antique setting :)
FH surpised me with it-i don't even know the exact carat weight! I was SO surpised when he gave it to me. I don't know how much it cost; but i don't think more than $5K but who knows!!!
