So, as my first question for the questions of the day, I figured I'd start with the beginning!
What were the circumstances of your first meeting with your FH?
I love these stories; I once wanted to make a book compiled of all different couples and their stories. I don't know if anyone else is obsessed with hearing about how people met, but I think it is always fascinating. My favorite has to be my parents' story... but maybe I'll save that for another post!

FH and I had been talking/emailing for a few weeks then found a Saturday I was going into NYC with friends and so was he. We decided to meet at Saks 5th Ave at about 2 p.m. on 12/3/05. My friends and I waited near the Louis Vuitton pocketbooks in the store and eventually I saw him and got really nervous and giddy like a little kid.
We spent several hours together strolling through Manhattan and went to the View at the Marriott marquis and had a drink and then spent some time at the Rockefeller xmas tree where we had our first kiss- hence the reason he took me back to propose there two years later

FH and I were 'work friends' not really too close of friends or anything like that.... so we just met at work.. when I was a librarian TRAINEE going for my masters and he was one of the computer techs for the building... we were both in relationships when we first met........but we talked on and off.. and over a year and a half of working in the same building and just being casual friends..... his relationship ended.... and we became closer friends, as he would talkt o me about the issues with the relationship.... and then the relationship that I was in started having problems... well before you know it... we were more than just friends.. it was truly a fairy tale

I love our story,... My friend from work asked me to be in her bridal party... prior to this she used to always talk to me about husband's childhood friend, and how she thought he was a good match for me. I always had to remind her that I was in a relationship, and had been for the past two years! She would remind me that I wasn't happy and that she didn't like the guy. Nothing came of her attempts to set me up and then one day she informed me that this mystery man was going to be my partner in her wedding. One night she invited everyone to go out to a bar and then come back to their apartment, to celebrate their engagement and so that the bridal party could meet. My boyfriend and I skipped the bar part, but met up at their apartment. I still remember the puzzled feeling I has when four very good looking guys walked into her apartment. 'Who were these guys and were had she been hiding them????' My eyes locked on the tall blonde and he walked right over to me and introduced himself. He was the guy she has been talking about for MONTHS! That night he kept joking that we were going to walk down the aisle together, which I thought was hysterical, but my boyfriend was getting annoyed at. Months later I met up with him again at one of his shows in the city, my boyfriend was at a bachelor party out of state. My friend kept saying I should try and pursue things, but I wasn't even sure he knew I existed. That night on the train home my friend got a text message from him 'That girl is really cute!' The boyfriend was disposed of soon after!

Vinny and I met on a internet dating site. After a month of communicating, we finally met. We decided to meet eachother at the movie theater in Stony Brook. The movie we saw was Constantine with Keanu Reeves. (Both of us saved our movie stubs). After the movies, we went to Ruby Tuesdays for appertizers and drinks. We had a lot to talk about especially how we didn't like the movie. lol. We must have talked for about 3 hours. We have been seeing eachother almost everyday after that.

Christian and I worked retail together and became really good friends. We always hung out and joked around at work together. After a few months I started to develop a little crush on him and I heard through the grape vine that he was into me too. So one night we closed the store together and we decided to hang out afterwards. From that night until now, we've been inseparable.

Pat and I went to high school together. We met through mutual friends back in 10th grade. We used to go out to lunch everyday. I had another boyfriend but always had a crush on Pat anyway! Then in 2003, I saw him on AIM and started talking to him and we met up one night and the rest is history!

I met my FH at a bar, lol. I have a think for Jukebox's and I was at a bar in the city that my girlfriends and I love and I was standing by the jukebox and I guess my FH happened to walk by and I stopped him and asked him to pick out a song. We went on our first date the next day and now we are engaged!

FH and I met at a bar of all places! Although it's a little less shady than you would think. It's a bar where all of our friends hang out, so it's a little bit more like a frat house than a bar. We've floated around the same social circles since high school but some how never met. So on that night my best friend and I walk into the bar and she immediately went up to him and introduced us. We talked for hours but never exchanged phone numbers, so I had to hunt him down on Myspace.
A couple weeks after we started dating he told me that my friend had tried to set us up and he said that he wasn't looking for a serious relationship. Little did he know when he met me he would change his mind!

well i meet fh online and the day that we met i started my new job and he called me to see how my day was and that is when he asked me can we met tonight at the softball feild. He had a game that night. So as i was walking over to the feild he was coming off the feild and walk right to me and was like hi hun. I was like how did you know it was me and he was like i just knew. We just hit it off and the rest was history after that.

well our story is a little long and complicated. FH worked doing a lot of promoting stuff for most of the bars on the island, I also had a friend who worked with him. well I actually met him a few times over a span of a few years but not to the point where we actually met and talked...ok fast forward...my fiend was begging be to go out with her one night and I finally gave in. we went to the bar where she worked and there was Mike (FH) and I recognized him and went 'your my friend on myspace'! ( yes,it was back in the myspace craze) so we talked a few times on myspac after that but nothing big. then one night my friend was bugging me to go to the bar she worked at. well we got there and FH was there we talked a little and my friend ran off to go talk to this guy she liked. So FH and I talked for most of the time I was there then my friend and I left and we never exchanged numbers. The NEXT day I went to the Boardy barn with another friend and we walked all the way to the end of the line... I saw a bunch of people I knew on line and we were talking all of a sudden a get a text from an unknown number and it says...hows the barn? and Im like hmm who is this and how do they know where I am..scary! so i asked who it was and it was FH and then hes like im here ...so im like where? and hes like look for the yellow hat when you get in (hes 6'5 ..so i couldnt miss him in a yellow hat lol) anyways we get inside and there he is waiting for me by the door...we hung out the whoooole day and had a great time and the rest is history! forgot to mention... he had to call our mutual friend and convince her to give him my number so he could call me that day! such a Cutie!

I love that story... IM is such a great tool for reconnecting with people you haven't spoken to in a while

We went to law school together but never spoke to each other there. We had a mutual friend that was getting married 2 years after we graduated from law school, and we both were invited and wound up sitting next to each other. He drove me home when I 'missed' the last metro north train back to the city because I had to get my sister from the train station, we were going on vacation the next day. So every day while I was on vacation with my sister FH and I started to write emails and speak on the phone, and we had our first official date when I got back from vacation!

I love telling my story over and over lol but i'll keep this one short:
My ex roommate's boyfriend and my FH are good friends. ex roommate's boyfriend decided that FH and i should meet. He showed FH my myspace page and FH immediately wanted to meet. So my ex roommate's boyfriend, FH, my girlfriend and I went to have lunch. FH was so quiet and i was talking a mile a minute. I decided that he just wasnt really my type. We exchanged numbers anyway and began texting everyday until i finally agreed to go on a date with him.

FH and I initially met through a mutual friend. I always thought he was cute and was attracted to him but thought that I was too short for him. (I'm not even 5ft and he is 6' 4')
About a year after seeing each other around here and there, we were talking and realized that we were both single (both just broken up within a couple of months) and decided that we would go to the beach together that Friday.
Well we started going to the beach every Friday and then hanging out during the week and the weekends as well (just as friends- both pretending we wanted to stay single for a while)
Finally one night when he drove me home I told him that if he didn't kiss me I was going to have to kiss him. Needless to say he DID kiss me and confessed that he had wanted to since the first day.
The rest is history.

Back in the days of AOL chat rooms i was in the romanian chat room and someone asked me if i was from brooklyn...Bkposh was my screename even then. So I said yes and he asked me if i was going anywhere that night because he was looking for a club to go to and I was so i told him where it was then he gave me his pager number so i could call him with directions....i did and then he paged me when he got there so we could say hello and I met him in front of the club...and here we are 9 years later.

That is too funny - my story is almost identical! Except that we wouldn't have started dating at all if our coworker/friend hadn't pushed us together!

We met through eharmony, and talked everyday for a month before we decided to meet. I know your supposed to meet in public, but for some reason I felt like I knew him forever and decided to cook for him at my place. I was so nervous when I heard him pull up. I lived by myself and wondered if I made the wrong decision, and it was the last night of my life, he showed up with flowers, and wine, and was such a gentleman, I guess he wasn't an ax murder, cause he we are 4 years later, planning a wedding.
