Good morning everyone! Todays question is another childhood question.
I was recently speaking to another 40 + LIW Bride and we were talking about what our vision of our weddings were like 20 yrs ago. So this is a twist on that.
What was your vision as a little girl on what your wedding would be like?
And is your vision coming to life while planning your wedding now?
As most of you know, I was married before. I had my 'dream wedding' then. (Its a shame I wasted my dream on a looser). Anyway, I always thought after that if I got married again, I would just get married at city hall and have a dinner with close family. I never thought that I would be getting married in a church and having a reception again. So my vision has completely changed.

my wedding is pretty much coming to gether exactly how i nvisioned it (minus the horse and carriage lol)

Mine is a little of the childhood dream mixed with some of my fun, dramatic, outgoing personality now.
As a child I dreamed of the fairy tale, the castle big gown, FH in tails, with the horse and carriage etc....
Now it is still as big but a lot more chic and lavish. I am using hot trendy colors, I want a party vibe, and people to leave saying wow that was AWESOME..... although I still want the traditional ceremony... so I'm a little bit of both
All I can say is if my vision comes to life like i hope it will..... it is gonna be AMAZING!

It is coming together EXACTLY the way I have always dreamed ever since I was little, I couldn't be happier (haha except for the non-2nd date but we all know that lolol)

my wedding is coming together exactly how i always envisioned it would have. i would have to say the only major difference is the dress i picked. never in a million years do i (or anyone who has seen it) thought i would pick a dress with so much beading & pick-ups. everyone thought i was going to pick a very plain dress.

Mine is coming together pretty much the way I always wanted. I guess I thought money would be no option when I was younger... BOY that is NOT the CASE!!!!

Honestly, this question wouldn't apply to me. I am one of those very few girls who never dreamed about getting married when I was younger. Strange, I know, a lot of people don't believe me - but it's true! So...I am kind of winging it so to speak....

I never had childhood dreams of marrage. I met Fh at a party at a close friends house, many years ago. We started dating....things heated up..........we got closer & closer. Than we moved in together. I still had no dreams of marrage. We ended up buying a house together where we have lived for the past 10+ years. Out of the clear blue he asked the question..........I did not evan flinch before saying YES! .I never dreamed it would come to this, I could have lived with him forever just the way we were. However, now with this marrage thing a reality......I feel more closer to him than ever.

Honestly...I wasnt the type of girl to sit and dream about what i wanted my wedding to be when I was a kid. I was more interested in sports, blood/guts and being outdoors than I was in all the girly stuff. It really wasnt until I hit college that I started to get girly and think about things like that...I once I started thinking about it, I wanted a 'modern meets traditional' kind of wedding, and I guess I am doing that to the best ability that I have (and that money allows)

well i either wanted to get married in disney world...or on a beach in mexico...
we will be honeymooning in mexico and disney...so it works out there i guess
even tho the places aren't the same i still feel its coming together just like i imagined it...

A barbie wedding lol. In malibu.
My wedding is sort of coming alive. Its glamourous, its on the beach, and I am wearing a barbie dress!

i never really dreamed about the wedding but i did always dream about the dress when i was a little girl......that being said i was an 80s child so naturally i wanted my dress to be big and poofy with lots of sparkles and i probably wanted my hair to be in a pony tail to the side! hahah that is not my style anymore!!

LOL, me too!!!!! I always wanted the horse and carriage when I was a little girl. But now I've realized that the trip is just too far
But overall, so far it's all coming out exactly as I dreamed. I've always imagined being a princess on my wedding day, and that's exactly what I'm planning. My place is GORGEOUS with an amazing ballroom, and I plan to get a princess/ball type gown (going shopping in 1 1/2 weeks ). And FH of course, is my knight in shining armour

even though i am not and never have been religious in any way...i sort of always pictured myself getting married in a church...probably just bc thats what i always saw on tv...but i am just as happy to be getting married outside at my RH
I also always wanted a horse and carriage which is clearly not happening lol
and i always wanted a string quartet at my wedding which i am having!!
other than that I dont really think I had any specific visions of what my day would be like.

LOL, FH wants a top hat and cane, and maybe tails I told him he can have them for the reception, but not the church! He may have to get two tux jackets

It's not exactly how I envisioned it when I was a kid but it is similar. When I was a kid I always dreamed of the big fairy tale wedding in a castle with me in a huge Cinderella dress, huge bridal party. I'm still having a big wedding but i'm going for a different vibe- more modern and trendy than fairy tale... and I will not be wearing a big Cinderella dress, lol

I don't think I had a vision as a little girl but I always knew I'd get married. I didn't actually start to think about weddings until I was in college. So far, everything I have wanted like a church and a RH, HM are turning out fine. I think when I was younger I imagined my self in a poofy dress but the dress that I have now is very form fitting and I can't imagine how I ever saw myself in any other style, lol.

I never thought about it and never cared. I was more concerned if i was going to be whatever video game i was playing and if i was going to do good at dance and softball later on lol.
