~*~QOTD 4/17/12~*~

wedding question: During the wedding planning process, who has been there more and/or less for you than you thought would be?

NWR: If you weren’t in your current field of employment, what else would you want to be doing career-wise?

Good luck with the ELA to all you teachers out there (and students too!)

Re: ~*~QOTD 4/17/12~*~

wedding related: I guess I really thought that these three girls (all sisters) would really be there for me. We were super close until I started dating FH, and then they just disappeared. I had been dating the best friend of one of their BFs and started dating FH about 2 weeks after we broke up. So apparently that made people mad and they haven't exactly been nice to him (you're PO'd at me, whatever, but don't take it out on him - and BTW why is it anyone's business that I broke up with the guy?! It wasn't like I did anything hurtful or mean to him!). But I really thought when we got engaged they would grow up a little. Guess I was wrong. They still don't really hang out with me and have not texted me once to see how wedding planning is going (I've been engaged since November). It really hurts, and it stinks, because I really did think they'd try to be involved.

NWR: If I wasn't a teacher, I'd probably be a pastry chef. I would love to take classes and stuff to learn more about decorating and whatnot!

Good luck everyone!!!

1). I really thought it was going I be fun to include fmil in all the planning. Yea that turned out to be a very bad idea. She Has a lot of opinions and didn't mind telling me them, and not in a good way. So I ended that. I guess I had a lot of ideas of how tho whole wedding process was going to go down and it's a bit different then I thought. Everytime I suggest something, I am stepping on someone's toes.

2). I have no idea. I fell into my job and I love it but I hate where I do it.

My little sister is only 15. I love her dearly and chose her to be my maid of honor, with the thought that she'd actually be less of a help than my other bridesmaids. We live 7 hours apart and she is so young. However, she's stepped up more than I could ever hope for. She listens and shares her ideas with me. She was the BEST when I dress shopping. She helps with DIYs - even from far away. I love her so much and I'm so glad to have her there for me!

I have another bridesmaid who is nearby, and while I don't ask a lot of my bridesmaids, it's nice when they check in to see if there is anything they can do or help with. One of the girls hardly does that, and she is so close by. But really, I know if I ever needed to call on her, she'd be there in heartbeat.

Also - FH has been so involved the planning process. He's so great. <3

I've always enjoyed preforming (dancing, singing, acting) but I couldn't handle the anxiety that came along with job uncertainty and auditioning. But I think my back up would be some either a musician or stage actress.

Wedding related:
I've been surprised about how into my wedding my father has been. He's a very laid back guy and he has been so excited throughout the process so far. It's been nice.

NWR:
My freshman year of college I went to school as a theatre major. After a full year I decided that a life full of auditioning was not what I wanted. Little did I know the economy was going to be so crappy and I would end up going on just as many job interviews as I would have auditions. So my answer would be that I wish I was still acting and singing instead of trapped in a cube.

Well for one, my 2013 brides.. who I never even had met when I got engaged! Most surprising thing to happen to me but seriously most supportive ladies ever!

Other than that, I think FH has really stepped up.. to the point of Groomzilla but I'll take it.. He's a total guy's guy and loves sports and I never expected him to be as interested as he is now! Also, my best friend has really dropped out of the picture lately.. didn't expect that.

If you weren’t in your current field of employment, what else would you want to be doing career-wise?
Cake Decorating for sure! I worked at a bakery for 5 years and absolutely loved decorating.. but the hours ******! Either way, I loved it and still do it on the side sometimes but I prefer the hours and cleanliness of Accounting! Lmao!

1.) My fiance'. I knew that he would be super helpful, but he's been great and really helpful & organized with things. And he doesn't mind doing all of this wedding stuff, which is awesome! Also my parents and my best friend have been really helpful as well! I loved that they all came to the bridal extravaganza with us!

2.) I'm in the process of working job stuff... so as not to jinx any thing. This answer is to be continued....

My Fiance & one of my bridesmaids. They have been helping me & going with me places all the time. Without major complaint at that.

NWR: I would be a hairdresser if i weren't an accountant. I just love doing hair lol

Wedding question: During the wedding planning process, who has been there more and/or less for you than you thought would be?
Everyone has been helpful in their own way. However, my little cousin who is 17 years old has been the most helpful. She went with me to all my appointments when I was looking for a RH. She is one of my BMs but I did not expect that she would be so helpful.

NWR: If you weren’t in your current field of employment, what else would you want to be doing career-wise?
I am a social worker and I really love what I do. I was going to be a nurse but when I started working at a non-profit community based organization in college that changed (I also hated sciene so that was not going to work out ). I love working with people and helping them it brings joy to my life. I would do something that pays more but then I probably wouldn't be happy doing it. Maybe a lawyer I like to defend and advocate. I used to defend myself a lot to try to get out of trouble during my teenage years.

Blah to the ELA! I hate it and what it does to my students!

I couldn't imagine being in another field. Whatever I was in I would be miserable bc I LOVE what I do!

Less - My Mother. My mother has said for a long time before I was engaged that she could see Mike and I together. She aslo has a way of inserting her opinion on everything. I was dreading her taking control of the wedding - instead she's been absentee. Not an opinion anywhere.. nothing, no help.. no mother-daughter bonding. nada.

More - FH. He's almost a groomzilla but he's so excited about the wedding. Even when I have the 'why are we doing this, let's elope' moments he's grounded me.

Profession? I love being a journalist/reporter/editor. The hours are insane and the pay is horrible given the hours - but there's nothing like a meaningful story that really reaches the community, or shares critical information.

I might be in archeology - I always had it as an interest and was offered to go on a dig in Greece by a professor who adored me in College. I had to turn it down because he didn't realize it wasn't my major, only my minor.

My 2 MOH's took completely different roles than I thought they would... One MOH has been so supportive and asking me constantly if I need her help and offering ideas and plans. The other MOH I have barely spoken to in the last 3 months. SMH.

Also, my mother has really not been a part of my wedding. She hasn't asked. I'm really sad that I haven't been able to have that quality mother-daughter time.

NWR: If you weren’t in your current field of employment, what else would you want to be doing career-wise?

Geez. I have absolutely no idea. From sophmore year of college, I knew this is what I wanted to be. If I wasn't working at a college, I would probably work my way into event planning. I have been doing event planning for large scale events for years and absolutely love it, even did an internship. It is a perfect way to combine my passion for large scale events and my love for working with people.

1) Wedding Related: My mom and MOH have been amazing so far. That was not a surprise - but has been awesome to have them be a part of it. My other bridesmaids haven't really been involved too much - or too interested - which is kind of disappointing, but I guess you can't win them all!!!

2) Career: I am in financial services - technology - and that's DEF not what I thought I'd be doing. When I was younger, I wanted to do law - but I went another direction in school. I like my job - but don't LOVE it - but not sure what I love!!! Guess one day I'll figure it out. :) :) :)

wedding question: FH is definitley way more into planning then I would have thought! Basically everyone has been great so far though I haven't asked my bmaids yet, one of my bmaids is abroad for a few more months and I want to ask everyone in person at the same time, but I'm sure they will be awesome because they are awesome girls!

NWR: I would love to do something creative... maybe in my next life But I love what I do now!

Re: ~*~QOTD 4/17/12~*~

I thought my mom and my sister ( my MOH) would be more helpful. My mom keeps saying it is so far away and why do I keep doing things. Were 11 months out not sure how long she wants to wait. Although she was very involved when dress shopping so she coming around. FH been great with everything. I knew some things we would care about but we been helpful all around.

Not sure if I would do something else other then be a teacher. If not that I def. do something with children. Although I would leave preschool to teacher elementary school any day.
