Good Morning!!! Today is the 7 month mark to my wedding, so it has me thinking about wedding dates..
Why did you choose your date? Does the date or time of year have any significance to you?
Our wedding date is actually our dating anniversary. We originally wanted October so it would be a little warmer but it just seemed that every place we looked had 11/17 open. It just seemed like something was telling us to get married on our anniversary.

We love the fall, so we knew we wanted to get married that time of the year. It also turns out that Veteran's Day fell on a Monday this year, so we figured people could have an extended weekend if they so choose.

We were originally looking in September but because of some family drama (don't get me started) we had to change or plans and move to the end of October. It just so happened that our venue had the 3 year anniversary of our first date open, so it ended up being a pretty special date!

I always knew if I got married I'd want either a Spring or Fall wedding. We quickly decided on Fall because there is usually a less chance of rain. Plus Oct is our dating anniversay month so we decided it will be nice to have both in one month and Oct will be our 'special' month. Originally we wanted Sat, Oct 5th but realizing how much $$ we'd save choosing a Sun we ended up with Oct 6th.

We picked June 1st because FH work schedule/apprenticeship is on break from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This was the only time that would fit into his schedule. I also wanted to get married in warmer weather but not hot so we picked the beginning of June.

We wanted a Fall wedding and October 11 is our dating anniversary, so we tried to book for Saturday the 12th. The church wasn't booking weddings at the time bc of confirmation scheduling, so we decided to go for the first day of Fall, Sept 21.

Originally I wanted a Fall wedding, but Fall is a SUPER busy time for me at work and there is no way any of my co-workers/friends would be able to attend my wedding if we got married in the fall. So originally we chose September 20th, which was right before the busy season. I had always wanted a Friday night wedding, but I got to thinking that if we went with the end of September, it would be darker much earlier and I wouldn't get any daylight pictures... so we pushed it up to May 31st. Plus we would have been engaged for 2 years and almost 4 months at that point... it would have felt like the neverending engagement Thankfully this was all decided before we booked any thing, so nothing had to be changed haha
ETA: My parent's wedding anniversary is in April and their first date anniversary is September 19th, they were originally going to get married on September 19th (which would have been a day before our date!), but had to push the wedding back a few months. I just found this out last week when we went out for their anniversary that we originally picked the day after their original date haha

We felt September was a good month because it can be hot or brisk.
My FH wanted to get married in October but we share a birthday on October 24th. I wanted to keep the occasions each month to a minimum LOL.

Fhs bday is 10/24 too!! How funny!
We chose 11/2 because Nov is 'off season' and since the first Saturday happened to be the 2nd we figured we might still have the chance of getting somewhat warmer weather. Nothing sentimental about it . We did realize after though that our month + day = year. So thats kinda cool.

No significance really. We got engaged in september and i wanted at least a year to plan. We wanted a fall wedding and was originally going to try and do early november for off season but we got a fantastic deal for 10/5 which was a sat daytime (was originally looking at sunday because its cheaper) and 5 has happened to be my 'favorite' number since I was small so I felt like it was meant to be!

We wanted it in the summer. June was too crazy with graduations ect, July is my Birthday month ( yes a whole month dedicated to me ;) ) so we ended up with August. I wanted in the begining of August because I am a campaign manager for political campaigns and usally after labor day is when stuff heats up and I wanted to be fully focused on the campaign at that point and not be on my HM lol

I wanted 3/29 because that was the day we met in 2008 but this year it was Good Friday and the church is booked that day. So we went with the next available Friday march date that Bridgeview had open because I absolutely had to get married there!
