Hi Ladies! Hope everyone is having a good Monday so far.
Today's question is all about the dress! How has the dress shopping experience been going? Have you found 'The One' yet? How many stores did you go to and how many dresses have you tried on?
I have already found my dress! I went to David's Bridal first just to get an idea of the style I wanted. I tried on 6 dresses there. Once I knew the style, I went to Macy's Bridal Salon in Manhasset and only tried on the style I liked. I tried on 4 dresses and the fourth is the one I ended up buying. I just knew and didn't want to confuse myself by going to other stores and trying on similar dresses. I am terrible at making decisions so my mom was relieved at how quick and painless the dress shopping experience turned out to be.
There are pics in my album of the dress on a model and on me. The beading isn't part of the dress. I'm having that piece added.

I went to 3 different stores.... my mother thinks I only went to 2. At the third store there were 3 dresses that I fell in love with and had a really hard time deciding which one was 'the one'. I chose MY dress because I didn't have to add a belt or remove a hideous applique that was sewn into the dress. I cried when I put all three on, it was a hard decision, but I have a picture of my dress in the album :)

I must have went to like 15 places and probably tried on about an average if 8 to 10 dresses per place....however some were duplicate and I didn't realize it at the time but I must have tried in like 120 dresses....im the type that needed to see everything....always thinking what ifsomeone else had something better. I found a dresses I liked in DDavid's bridal then I went to Fantasia and found something that topped that but neither dress was what I was looking for but I did like them on me. So we kept looking....I love the story behind finding my dress I went ru the bridal suite of centereach and found this dress that was everything I was looking for it was just a little slimmer then I was hoping but they said I could add crinoline (idk how to spell that lol) that was on 2/22 my friend had posted something on fb that said today is Feb 22nd 222 it's an angels number god bless everyone I said to my self when I read that maybe my grandma is trying to tell Me something, maybe today I will find my dress...so after finding this dress that I loved I decided to look up the meaning of Angel num 222....something along the lines if your Angel is trying to tell you your on the track track but don't give up yet.....I still had plans to keep looking. So I did that nothing compared to that dress I kept comparing that dress to every other dress. But I had one more appointment at Kleinfelds, it was my grandma's dream to take me there before she passed so we planned to go in her honor bc I never thought I could afford singing in Kleinfelds!! Well I told my consultant about the dress I loved she told Mr they carried it...I was pleased but worried Joe much more it ess going to cost at Kleinfelds! I tried on a few others but they where just ok nothing like that one so she out me in it and still loved it. I found out that the price was exactly the same as it was in centereach!! My grandma got her wish in heaven as I said yes to the dress in Kleinfelds!!! :) ps I didn't cry lol I only cried bc it was hard to do with out grandma there! Not everyone is a crier! They only had a size 10 there I ordered an 18 so it w will look much better!! And I'm getting it in ivory not light gold like this!!
I haven't even started looking, other than online. I'm afraid of changing my mind

I love the story behind your dress! I would have loved to experience going to Kleinfelds and possible working with one of the consultants you see on TV. I see you worked with Debbie, love her! You look beautiful and I think you made a great choice!
P.S.- I didn't cry either. My mom started to and that's what made me tear up.

I was afraid of that too! I definitely had an idea in my head of what I wanted but was afraid that the style would look terrible on me or I would like something else better. I ended up with exactly what I pictured in my head so it all worked out!

This is my fear. I am a long way off from starting to dress shop, but I keep pinning dresses and I have so many different styles pinned because I'm afraid some won't look good on me or make me look even shorter than I already am! I love the look of an empire waist a-line ballgown, but I'm only 5'2' and I'm afraid I'll look super short next to my 6'2' fiance. And I CANNOT wear heals. I literally look like a newborn baby giraffe taking my first steps when I wear any type of heel.

My dress was the first one I tried on!!! I tried on other dresses after it, and kept going back to the first one, and once I put it on again I knew it was the one! I didn't expect to find it at all on the first try.

I don't mean to laugh, but when I read that I couldn't help it lol

Re: **QOTD 4/7/14**
I actually went with my MOH one day after work, just to get the jitters out. I looked on line and printed out the styles I loved. I love going shopping when it comes for other people but for me sometimes its a little difficult. I know what I like and what I don't like so if it catches my eye it's a wrap. My FMIL had said she wanted to buy me my dress since my mother and I have not spoken to one another in almost 10 years. It meant so much to me but I knew it was going to be an emotional day for me so my MOH suggested that we go so I can get an idea of what to expect. Believe it or not I actually found my dress that day!!! I was so surprised and fell in love with it. I did not want to take away from sharing the moment with my FMIL so I made two appointments, one at RK bridal and another at Macys bridal. I made a little girls day out of it so I asked my MOH as well as my FSIL to joins us. I tried on 4 dresses at RK bridal and liked one as it was somewhat similar to the other dress I originally had tried on. However, I still wanted to go to Macys to make sure it was The One. When we went to Macys bridal, my FMIL and I looked through some dresses and I picked the one I originally tried amongst the other ones we selected. When I came out with The Dress, everyone's reaction was in unison and it confirmed my decision, I found my dress. It was such a special moment I will forever remember.
