Hey Ladies!!! I'm so excited to be the new BOTW! I'm not sure if the question has been brought up previously but here's the icebreaker... BRIDAL PARTY? How did you pick, who did you pick,? Was there someone you wanted to include but didn't.
I ask because I am in a huge dilemma, I don't have many girlfriends that I'm close with. My best friend for over 20 years knew she would be my MOH before I even asked. She threw FH and I an engagement party together with our parents two months after we got engaged! So that was the easy part to my bridal party. My SIL I would love to be my matron of Honor , I was a MOH at her wedding when she married my brother (there was two of us). But can you have a maid and a matron?? My thing with that is she's been married for 5 years, and she might not want to tdo the whole 'bridesmaid' thing? Then I have my bestie from college, who I adore but is so close to coworkers(we both work in the same company) so I'm afraid she'll leak info at work about the wedding. (I work in retail ladies, there's a lot of gossip) and lastly, there's my FH's cousin who has been a bridesmaid like a million times and twice this summer, so I'm terrified toask be Use she might be over it! Lol I mean I know I'm a worrier and I really shouldn't be but How are you ladies doing this?
FH is simple, two brothers and two best friends since forever.

You can definitely have a matron and a maid of honor! I'm having two matrons since both of my sisters are married. I'm also having FH's two younger sisters and my best friend from forever and my best friend since college. I wish I could have more of friends my age be in the party, but I don't want to have too many people! I wouldn't worry about putting anyone on the spot about being a BM. If you want them to stand with you, I'm sure they'd be honored to!

I was just at a wedding on Friday and she had a matron of honor and maid of honor. They also had 3 best men! I am having my 1 best friend as my maid of honor, my other 2 girlfriends as bridesmaids, my FSIL as a bridesmaid and my 1 cousin as a junior bridesmaid(she'll be 14)..I just chose the people I am the closest with, and who I know I would want to be part of my wedding day. I asked my 1 other good friend to be in the bridal party but she declined but she lives far away, which I totally understood. As for the groomsmen, FH still hasn't asked anyone..he's not sure yet. My brother is def a groomsman, but that's all I know so far lol

This was a difficult decision.... I have 2 sisters, one I am closer with than the other but I made them both maids of honor to keep the peace....then I asked my 2 closest friends....FHs cousin and I are really close so I really wanted to ask her but FH has a sister who neither he or I am close with. And I didn't want my FMIL causing a huge scene if I asked her niece and not her daughter. So I did ask both but it's just very awkward bc FHs sister we still don't hear from.

We wanted to keep it simple, plus my really close friends are guys so we are just having MOH and a best man.

It was a little tough for me because I don't have many girlfriends and I thought my best friend was definitely going to be my MOH. However since FH and I got engaged I have yet to see her and she has been non-existent in regards of my wedding. So I made a tough decision and choose someone else as my matron of honor and have another girlfriend as my Maid of Honor. FH is just having 2 groomsmen so we are definitely having a small bridal party and keeping it simple.

You definitely can have a maid and matron of honor. The last wedding I went to, there were two maids of honor and two best men.
My MOH is my BFF since birth and my bridesmaids are my two sisters and my FSIL. I decided to keep it to four so it didn't get complicated. My middle sister is complicated enough without adding more females into the mix lol.

I have a maid and matron of honor. I really only wanted one, my cousin, but needed to keep some peace in my household and make at least one of my sisters a maid of honor. I am not close to either of my sisters but I chose my one sister who I speak to. My other sister just told me after I picked bridesmaid dresses that if she doesn't like how it fits she wont be in the bridal party. Ha... sorry went off on a tangent. So, my bridesmaids are 2 close friends and my sister that I don't really speak to. I was going back and forth with asking another girl friend but I decided against it just because she is never available.

My maid of honor is my sister, just for the mere fact that she is my sister. We are really not that close and she could care less..... Then I have my friend from my old job, my bff since 4th grade, my friend from college and my cousin who are all pretty involved with everything! lol for the groomsmen we just have his 3 brothers and his two close friends from highschool.

It's definitely a tough decision! But my FH let me pick mine out and then he just filled in his side with his brothers and friends based on how many girls I chose! We're having a large bridal party (the more the merrier right?!) Two sisters (MOH and bridesmaid) Two nieces (16&12) (bridesmaid and junior) Then I'm having my cousin, and 3 friends as bridesmaids as well!
I also had two girlfriends since childhood that I felt really bad not including so a friend recommended making them my something blues! They are going to wear the same dress as the bridesmaids but in a blue color instead of pink.
