I'm sure this question was probably asked, so forgive me if it's a repeat,

Everyone has different budgets and ideas, what was the one thing you just have to splurge on, or something you don't really care about and rather save money on?

For me photography is super important because it's the one thing I have to keep forever.
However, limos are necessary but not something I need to break the bank on. So if I have to settle for a less expensive limo to get fabulous photo and video, I'll deal.

FH and I always said to one another we are putting a down payment on a house not on a wedding that will last several hours. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I mean if you have it go for it! We just knew that we were not going to spend that much on our wedding and wanted something small and intimate. I am so lucky to have very crafty ladies who are helping me with our invitations, table numbers (photos) and favors. We were also lucky to have got an amazing deal with our venue and save on limos and such because our ceremony is happening at the venue along with cocktail hour/reception. Since we are having a much smaller wedding we saved on flowers as we do not need as many centerpieces. With that being said, we knew we would splurge more on our photographer/videographer = ) and let's not forget the honeymoon =)

I think we had an overall big picture of what we wanted to spend. We went lower in price then expected so we were able to go up in some other things. I went over budget in almost everything but I think my original budget was impossible to meet....the issue with my FH is he doesn't worry about things with money lol...which isn't good since we are not independently wealthy lol..we also are saving to buy my moms house in about 2 years. Now for my daughters sweet 16 I went over budget as well, but for both not to drastically.

We definitely splurged and went over budget on photography and videography. Like you said, it's the one thing you will have for the rest of your life to remember your special day so I was totally fine with spending a little extra.
The one thing I'm hoping to save on are the flowers. FH's cousin is a florist and will be doing our flowers so I know I will get a good price. Plus, I'm not a big flower girl so I want to make everything as simple (yet elegant) as possible.

So far we've booked venue and photography and gonna over budget on... Venue and photography. our original budget for our venue was unrealistic, as we learned venue hunting and then we adjusted and still went over the adjusted budget. My FIL's ended up offering to contribute ($50 a week every week until our wedding-- perks of having a long engagement) and so did my grandparents to make it easier. We went just a little over budget on the photographer because we needed those extras like parent albums, which will be our parent gifts so it's not so hard to swallow. But no more going over budget. We want a house if possible before or right after the wedding and I hate spending money on a five hour party like this. I wanted to elope but NOOOOO...

We splurged on the venue and photography. But we cut costs on the limo and flowers. We're having everything in one place so limo is unnecessary. Also flowers we're just doing bouquets and going for more creative less expensive centerpieces.

We splurged on the venue. But luckily we don't need limos because ceremony reception and hotel are all at Fox hollow

we splurged on venue and it looks like we will go a little over budget on music..... music is what makes the party and we want it to be a huge party :)

We plan to splurge on food. We want our guests to have amazing food and maybe experience a place that they never knew existed or thought about. We have a house already, so we plan to have a nice party, but not over spend.

We joke about just eloping, but my FH is an only child and Italian, so we know that wouldn't fly with his parents lol.
