QOTD 5/6/09

Good morning ladies! Well, morning for me...........I just woke up! God I love having a day off!!! and the sun's out! I was starting to think that I had the 'April showers, May flowers' thing backwards!!!
So my question for today is:

Do any of you ever secretly want to be a housewife?

Lately I have been feeling like I want to have a baby, and stay home and raise my kids, and take care of my house, etc. I mean, I love my job (on most days) but lately it's just been so stressful there! So I don't know if that's why I am feeling this way, or if it's because I really want to be a stay at home mom when I have kids. But you know, reality is that most of us are going to have to work because the economy ***** it.
So the second part of the question is:
How will you work it out when you do have kids? Do you have a plan to stay home as much as possible, yet still have some sort of income coming in? Will you continue to work full time, and have your parents or someone watch your kids? Will you do day care?

I have been thinking about going back to school. At first, I was going to advance my degree and become a Nurse Practitioner. But now, after planning my wedding, and seeing how well some of these vendors are doing, I was thinking maybe i could go back to school to do makeup! Then, I could work a little from home, and still have money come in, and then maybe work part-time at the hospital. hmmmmm..........................

When I was working and feeling stressed out outta my mind, I wanted to stay home. Now that I am not working, I am going CRAZY!!!!!!!!

If/when we do have kids, I will definitely stay home with them until they are old enough to go to daycare/school. I have to mak esure I am totally 100% satisified with the place as well. There are alot of sickos in the world. This also depends on Fh's and I jobs situation by that time.

Hell Yeah!!

I would love to stay home and concentrate on my kids...

But I'll probably end up working from home/part time when I'm a mommy. Like 3 days a week would be ideal/

I would LOVE to be a housewife but with the cost of living that would never happen! I would probably get a part time job while the kids were in school because I couldn't be home 24/7 but I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom.

Secretly....there is no secret about it!!! hahaha

I would LOVE to be a housewife! To be able to raise my child/children and have the time to maintain the house and go on playdates and bring the kids to their after school activities would be a dream....but it's only a dream.

Unfortunately living in NY will never allow me to have this type of lifestyle. If we moved to another state there would be no doubt that I could do this.

My mom was a stay at home mom until my sister and I were in school. Once we started school full time my mom worked part time but only during the hours that we were in school. That is exactly what I would want to do.

My biggest stress about having kids is what do I do with the baby once I have to go back to work. I don't really have any family that will be able to watch the baby and day care is very expensive. My FH would love to have a baby tomorrow but this is something that has to be figured out before we start trying.

There is no secret about it! I constantly tell FH that I'm not working when we have kids, and if he really thinks that we can't afford for me not to work, that he will just have to get a better job or I won't have kids. End of story. I'm not going to pop them out to hand off to grandma. It doesn't help that I have a dead end job, hate the industry I'm in, and really can't make a living doing what I actually ENJOY. I like to cook, not so much clean, but if I have the time available to do it I'd like it more than rushing after work to do laundry before having to go to bed.

I saw on the news this morning that for NY May typically has more rain than April so the 'April showers bring May flowers' saying doesn't really apply to NY.. Thanks to Linda Church from Channel 11 for that! HAHA!

Ok so.... UH MY DREAM is to be a stay at home mom. I can't wait to drop out of the rat race! I'm sick and tired of it. I hate hate hate the long hours and commute. I wake up at 6:20 and don't get home until about 7 pm! It's just soooooo long of a day. So to be honest... when we have little fockers... there isn't much of a choice... I won't be able to work like this anymore. Not that I'm upset or hearbroken over it! HAHA! Also, for me... I personally wouldn't want to work like that and then pay someone else to basically raise my kids. I feel like I would want to be the one that got to do that... after all that's part of why you have them. So yea.... STAY AT HOME MOM ALL THE WAY! I could do something fun and artsy or creative on the side to make some extra money.

FH will also have to work a lot of OT and maybe even have a side job at some point just to help make ends meet. But I know we can swing it. When you put your heart into something... anything is possible! You just make it work.

I always wanted to be a stay at home mom, but unfortunately, I am the major breadwinner so that's not going to happen any time soon. I do have some flexibility regarding my hours though. We need FHs job for the amazing benefits and my job for the pay so asking him to quit and be a stay at home dad, isn't an option either.

I do have some flexibility though as to working part-time/full-time. Ideally, I'd love to work 3 days a week, but we'll see what happens.

I never really gave it any thougt. My FH makes a good living so I could quit my job once I get pregnant. I guess we will cross that bride when we get to it.
