Good morning ladies! I know in the past there was a question about wedding dresses but I figured now more people may have gotten their dress. Did you get a dress yet? What silhouette or style is it? How many dresses did you try on before you found the one? How did you know it was “your dress” did you get the “this is the dress” feeling?

I still haven’t found my dress. I’ve been to 5 different dress stores and found a bunch I like but I still feel like I haven’t found the one. I keep thinking I’m going to get that feeling that it’s my dress and I’ll just know but I’m starting to get discouraged now. I’ve tried on so many dresses. I know I like lace with some bling/sparkle in it and I’m hoping I will find “the one” soon!

I went to about 20 stores tried on hundreds of dresses. At each store I had a top contender but they were never the one. I found my gown originally at bridal suite of centereach. And every store I went to after I was comparing new dresses to that dress. That how I knew. I didn't cry, I didn't freak out I don't think I had that moment. I am the type of person that had to know for sure that's why I kept looking. I love my dress though, I find myself looking back at pictures all the time. I'll see if I can upload pics.
Mine is Maggie Sottero Emma it is what they call a slim a line lace and bling...my train is my favorite part!!

I got a ball gown dress by maggie sottero. I tried on all the different styles but this one had everything I was looking for. sparklies!, a tight corset top and some poof on the bottom.

I got my dress at Macy's bridal at 34th Street in Manhattan. My FMIL said she was going to buy me my dress. My maid of honor knew how nervous I was going to be dress shopping so one day we decided to go after work to shake off the nerves. I tried on maybe a handful and ended up finding my dress. A week to 2 weeks after I set up an appointment and my MOH, FSIL and FMIL came with me to RK Bridal and then Macy's bridal. When I came out with the dress everyone knew that was THE DRESS. It's lace over net wedding gown with trumpet skirt and a strapless, sweetheart neckline which comes with an attached train. I also ended up getting my veil and a belt there as well. So excited.

I tried on about 15 dresses in total. I ended up getting a James Clifford. It has a natural waist line with a little bit of bling and lace. I am adding a lace cap sleeve to it.

I was all over the place with dress styles when I first started looking. But after I tried on my dress I kept comparing everything to it! I really wanted something with straps and love illusion necklines. Unfortunately I hadn't found too many dresses that fit my criteria. My mom pulled my dress and I fell in love with it! It is a mermaid, which I was originally 100% against! But I tried it on and loved it. It made me feel so special! Couldn't stop thinking about it and no other dress compared after. I am still nervous that I ordered it in a different color than I tried and because the sample was so big. The consultant rolled it up for me to show me how the proportions will be on my dress so I can only hope that it'll look like that when it comes!

Don't worry, you'll find the right one :) Once graduation is over, you're schedule will allow you to look more. You definitely know what you like, I think you're close!

You'll find a dress. I thought I would never find one until I went to RK bridal in NYC, there were so many dresses. Try to find a style you like and go from there. I knew with my body type I wanted a drop waist or trumpet and I love sparkle. I also wanted something new(new collection) but I was open to try on anything at first. I kept my entourage small. (Mom FMIL, MOH) I went to 7 stores and over 50-60 dresses. But when my consultant picked this dress we knew it was the one!!

You get the feeling, excited, sweaty hands, smile, you almost feel like a five year old princess. Lol
That's the best way I can describe it.
Here's my dress:

And I got mine early.., oops lol but I love it!!!

I actually have my first appointment this Friday! I'm so nervous!..I wanted to go alone my first time trying on dresses but I knew my mom would be heartbroken if she knew I went without her. So it will just be me and her for the day.

I got my dress about a month ago and it was the first dress I tried on! I didn't expect to get a dress that day, I just wanted to start looking but as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one. I tried on other dresses after, but kept going back to the first one. It was just 'me'... It's a fit & flare style, all lace with a sweetheart neckline.

I have my first appointment at the end of May.. I'm excited but scared because I'm EXTREMELY indecisive. Hopefully I'll 'know' when I find it.

I actually said yes to the dress today! It's a Mori Lee 5108 I've been looking at it for months and when I tried it on it was everything I ever dreamed of. Tried on 6 more after it and didn't feel the same.

I went to quite a free shops and tried on about 20 dresses before I found my dress. Then I went to a few more and tried on another 10 or so, just to be sure. I just kept comparing everything to that one, so it was obvious it was what I wanted. That was my 'moment', nothing huge or dramatic. I have such a hard time making decissions so that was my best way to be sure.

I'm of course in love with it now because it really does have everything I wanted. Its Maggie Sottero, Carolina, but definitely not wearing the blingy belt. Trumpet, all over lace, keyhole back. Perfection.

Congrats to everyone about their dresses! I'm so indecisive and I found it better to go alone and form my own opinions. This seemed to help me because I was so influenced by others on my first few trips. I'm hoping to make more appointments in the next few weeks because I hope to find something soon! It's great to see that some people tried on tons of dresses like me before finding the right one. I guess theres hope for me!

Thank you I was looking for something plain because lucky for me FH mother is a seamstress and she'll embellish it any way I want.
