It was great to hear about everyone’s dress shopping experiences and the dresses you picked yesterday. Today’s question is about the special moments in the wedding. Do you all have your first dance song picked out? What about entrance song and cake cutting? Father/daughter dance? Are any of you planning to take dance lessons before the first dance so it’s perfect? I look forward to hearing everyone’s responses. Have a good Wednesday!

So like many of the other aspects of my wedding, FH and I don’t know what we want our first dance song to be. There’s many songs that we call our song but we feel they are either too cliché or fast for the first dance, so for now we aren’t picking a song until it gets closer. I’m hoping to take dance lessons so that our first dance is perfect since we both aren’t the best dancers! I haven’t given much thought to any of the other special songs yet either but definitely something fun for the entrance song!

We have a first dance song, it's Here's to Us by Halestorm it's a little but more fast then a typical wedding song so we r going to take dance lessons. I got them on groupon.
I'm doing butterfly kisses with my daddy, did it at my sweet 16 have to do it at my wedding. I know it's over done but I love that song. Unless something by Eric Clapton or 38 special comes to mind I won't change it. (They r my dad's favorites)
Fh mom passed a few years ago so we r probably going to dance together and ask hood brothers to join us with thier gfs and the 6 of us dance to a song. I like in loving memory but idk if we will do that.
Entrance song is where I am stomped. Fh likes rock, metal etc he doesn't dance so he isn't looking forward to dance music all night. I'd like to give him his rock song entrance but I still want something that will get the crowd going. He doesn't want classic rock, he wants walk by pantera. I'm going to keep looking to try to find a happy medium.

The only song we have picked out right now is our song. We will be dancing to Van Morrison. I also think I want them to play talk dirty when the person who catches the garter gets to put it on the girl that catches the bouquet.... I think :)

We are not doing a lot of the traditional things, that's just our personality. We are not having a bridal party,we are not doing bouquet toss,no garter throwing....Im not sure about father/daughter dance...FH mom died and it wasn't that long ago and this is the first family affair so it will be very emotional. If I do it,he will dance with my mom and I will dance with his dad...Our song (which im sure is at every wedding these days lol) is all of me because he proposed to that song,so now its our song :) unsure about cake cutting but if so we will do a beatles song or the song from the wedding singer(my personal fav lol)

FH and I are not doing a lot of traditional things either - except not seeing each other before I walk down the aisle. That I am holding so sacred and can not wait till we see each other for the first time. As far as songs go, it is so hard to choose because there are so many that remind us of each another. As of right now, our first dance will be My One and Only Love by Sting. We really do not have to get dance lessons for that song since its slow, now for the other songs that is a different story. Lol

We're trying to find some music we have set up a play list of music we like for the wedding and trying to choose songs from there. For our first dance we're leaning towards Something by the Beatles or No One's Going to Love You by Band of Horses.

We are going to be dancing to Everything by Michael Buble. MY dad passed away 4 years ago, so I think I will dance with my younger and only brother. I have a feeling we will do some sort of slow song and then break out into something faster to lighten the mood :)

Not sure what we are doing for entrance songs yet

As of right now we have our first dance song picked out (as long as my friend can play it). Other then that we haven't figured anything else out yet.

We're torn between two songs as far as our first dance, it's between Stay With You by John Legend and God Blessed the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts. Probably going to go with John Legend because I think for the father daughter dance we're going to do My Wish by Rascal Flatts. That's all we have so far.

I haven't even thought about songs yet! It's on my list though lol I love Michael Buble...I would love to have one of his songs as our wedding song, but FH finds him very irritating so I'll have to work on that..haha

Better Together by Jack Johnson has always been 'our' song. It is a little more upbeat and fast than most traditional first dances but we don't mind. My dad and I will be dancing to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw. I listened to a few songs to see which one would be good for us and knew this was it when I cried like a baby during the whole song. Our entrance song is going to be Give Me Everything by Pitbull. It came out the summer we started dating and we listened to it on our first date. Not sure about cake cutting song yet (maybe Sara Bareilles' I Choose You since that is the song he had playing when he proposed). We might also be doing a special dance to a Frank Sinatra song with my grandmother. She is in a nursing home and we hoping she will be able to come to our wedding at least for a little while. I don't think we are going to take dance lessons.

Our first dance song is 'You Got What I Need' by Joshua Radin. My father-daughter dance is up in the air.. I would love to dance to 'What a Wonderful World' (the Hawaiian version that's usually mixed with 'Over the Rainbow') but I'm afraid it's too tropical. Probably over-thinking it lol. FMIL wants to dance with FH to 'I Hope You Dance' by Lee Ann Womack, but FH doesn't like it because it 'sounds 90's' (what does that even mean?! It's not like it's sung by the Spice Girls!). He likes 'Never Alone' by Lady Antebellum, so we'll have to talk to his mom about it.

http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/wedding-music-ideas/articles/8-wedding-songs-to-skip.aspx Just saw this on Facebook. Unfortunately, I like the cheesy dance songs- like chicken dance and cotton eye joe...so they will def be on my PLAY list!

First dance we are deciding between Crazy Love or Close Your Eyes by Michael Buble. Close Your Eyes is definitely a more emotional song, but Crazy Love talks about being away from eachother which would be very appropriate for our long distance relationship - - which will be ending (temporarily) next week!!!! So excited :)

I'd like to take a few lessons since I really have no idea how to dance? I kind of just sway back and forth. ahah

Dad is making me dance to Daddy's Little Girl with him, Michael Buble does a cover so I think I may use that. Can you tell I love Michael Buble?

Was thinking of using Star Wars for entrance or maybe 007 (maybe for garter toss?) to incorporate some of FH's interests.
