QOTD 6/11/10

Good Morning!!! We are so close to Friday!! I cannot wait for the weekend to finally be here!!

I'm sure there have been threads about this before but since I am relatively new to the site I'm going to ask it anyway. I would really like to hear what made you fall in love with your FH. So this gives us a little opportunity to gush over what we love about our men!!!

When I met FH I wasn't really looking to date but the man literally swept me off of my feet. For those Sex in the City fans he was like 'the Russian' the girls at work called him that for the longest time!
He does the most romantic things - breakfast in bed, dinners at places I would never think to step foot in, he takes me to the ballet and the opera... and he is spontaneous, we could be sitting on the couch watching tv and the next thing you know we're packing our bags for a trip.

Another thing I found with him that I had never experienced before was that he was SO easy to talk to and we would talk on the phone with him for HOURS... one call lasted 8 hours, I'm not even kidding. When we are together he always makes me feel special, like I am the only person in the room. His eyes are always on me... at first it was weird... now I love it!

He lived in DC when we first met so before he moved to LI whenever he was away he would send me things at work... anything from cards to teddy bears to chocolates. They always had sweey little notes attached (and I saved every single one!!)

Another thing that won me over was that he is crazy smart. Now I just call him a know it all... LOL. I can go to him and ask him anything... my own personal Google!!! So put that on top of everything else I mentioned along with the fact that he is sweet and supportive and genuinly just a good person and I couldn't help but fall in love!!!

I could go on and on about him but I guess I should probably get ready for work.

I have never been in love before. normally a guy couldn't get me to want to spend all my time with him, til FH came along. I couldn't get enough, like he was an adiction. I knew after like 6 months that this was it. I don't think there was anything in particular, but eveything about him tha made me fall in love

We instantly had a very deep, unbreakable connection. I'd never had the feeling that I had known someone my whole life before, it was just incredible. We just fit together like a puzzle, immediately. And we still do!

Also I was immediately smitten by his quirkiness, sarcasm, and intelligence.

When I met FH I loved what a gentleman he was, always opening doors, holding my shopping bags, etc. And how he just took care of me.....previously I was in a relationship where I completely took care of him, so it was a nice change to see how I should be taken care of.

He paid attention to the little things and always knows how to make me smile.

For instance, when we first started dating, there was one day I had just gotten home from school and I was on the phone with him and mentioned I was hungry. He said he had to go, but would call me back. Well about 20 minutes later, he showed up at my doorstep with Boston Market macaroni and cheese, something I had mentioned another time that I love.

Then there was another time when we were dating that I was really sick. Funny thing was, I was working in a doctor's office at the time and could've gotten any medication I wanted. Well wouldn't you know, FH showed up at the doctor's office with a bag full of Dayquil and Nyquil, after driving through an ice storm.

I was in a long relationship before FH, and my ex NEVER would've done these things. It was amazing to see what happens when the relationship is two-sided and not just one.

At 1st I really wasn't into him that much, but he kept calling and coming over eventho he lived far from me and sometimes had to spend 3 hours in traffic. No other guy has ever done that for me. No one else kept telling me how special I am. Just FH. Felt great to get all of this attention all of a sudden.
Then one nite I had a mouse in my room and he saved me LOL I knew he's the guy for me.

He has no problems expressing how he feels about me.

Now I also love how complicated he is and has different personas for different occassions: he can be the sweetest, then be this tough a-hole, then immediately change into this guys who loves talking about everything and anything for hours. I'm always surprised at what I get.

he treated me like no one ever treated me before...helped get me out of the mess I was in when I met him...he was my partner in everything, he was and still is the best friend i can ever have.
I dont know how anyone could not fall in love with him and how all of the past girls in his life treated him the way they did...He is just the sweetest most caring, most loving person I have ever met...From the beginning he was in this for the long haul...He was too easy to fall in love with...

FH is the same way! I actually laughed the first 50 or so times he opened my car door for me. Now, on the rare occasion he doesn't, I'm like, 'I have to open my own door?'

When I met him, we just clicked. We spent the first night talking (and making out) until 3-4am. It felt like we always knew each other. It was nice!

FH was my best friend for years before we got together. Throughout our entire friendship, he never betrayed me and he was ALWAYS there for me no matter what, even more so than my boyfriend at the time. He never once disappointed me and over time, we began acting more like a boyfriend & a girlfriend than just best friends. For 9 months, he tried convincing me to leave the guy I was with cause he was treating me horrible, and he kept saying he would take care of me and I would never have to worry with him. After we finally got together, not only were we still best friends and acting the same way, but he really did take care of me like he promised and he still does. He's the one person in this world that I trust with everything and wouldn't doubt for a second.

FH was my first & only boyfriend. I was only 16 & like every other 16 year old, i liked lots of boys. however, FH was the only one who would go the extra mile. he would meet me after school, sit at my house for hours waiting for me to come home from dance class. he was extremely supportive of my dancing even if it took up all of my time. within a couple of weeks of dating, he knew my. he knew what i liked & what i didn't like. he finished my sentence & knew what i was thinking at every moment.

Not one thing in particular. It wasn't like wow he did this, I'm in love him. just his whole personality, and how we get along and have fun together and haev similiar goals in life.

I think for me it was that very on in our relationship FH became someone I felt like I'd known forever and someone who I felt I could trust with my life. It's kinda wierd but he essentially became my best friend and that made me fall in love with him on top of the fact that I think he's super cute, he's funny, and he's soooooo smart. He has a kind heart and I love the fact that he sees me as his partner in crime. :)

My FH has the biggest heart! He is just so thoughtful - If he is at a store and sees something that he knows that I would like he will buy it and surprise me with it! Like the other day he went to ***** and brought me home a pair of flip flops

There wasn't one specific thing...I fell in love with the whole package, his personality, his looks, his generosity, his warmth...

BUT

if there was one thing that made me go 'this guy is a keeper' it was when my Dad was in the hopsital in kidney failure and FH was my rock and really helped my family though a difficult time Dad's fine now, BTW

It was just his whole personality. He's always SO funny and makes me crack up all the time. He has the biggest heart and is always thinking about everyone else before himself. He's always honest with me and we just talk about everything. One of the best things was that only a few months after we started dating my mother got breast cancer and then a year later she got bone cancer and he has been there for me and my family through it all. He's really my best friend and I don't know what I would do without him

Since we accidentally met online we talked on the phone first for like 4 hours at a time for 2 weeks. He was obv so easy to talk to and both of our fathers passed away and we were talking about that and we both started to get teary eyed but it was weird... who talks about things like that on a first date.
He is one of the funniest people i know and i truely love him for that. He's also the guy next door who has no alterior motives which is a nice change.

Our first Valentines Day, which was about 2 weeks after we started dating, he surprised me with his gift. SInce the relationship was so new i wasn't expected much. I went into his basement and saw flowers and stuffed animal, cute and kinda the typical but it was fine. I took a double look and realized he made a dozen oragami rose bo-k for me. The stuffed animal was a purple (which i'm obsessed with) build a bear named comet (the dog from Full House which i'm also obsessed with). The card was a child's vday card with Dinosaurs on it (which i also love). At that moment i thought 'oh sh*t', cuz that was the moment i started to love him but i wasn't ready to lol.
