Morning ladies! Loved reading your responses yesterday! FH and I are leaving Friday for Florida to go to his aunts wedding and it got me thinking about destination weddings (not that hers is, she lives down there). So my question is.. Did you consider or are you having a destination wedding? What's your take on them? Where's your dream destination wedding spot?

FH and I discussed destination weddings in the eloping sense only. Our (my) plan was to go to Disney, stay at the Grand Floridian and bring our parents and siblings down with us and have a simple wedding and spend the week with our families. Well, I lost that battle and now we're having a giant wedding and spending a bagillion dollars on one day. I just keep telling myself that it will all be worth it lol. We never considered a true destination wedding because of the cost to guests. I just wouldn't feel comfortable asking people to spend SO much between the flight to a tropical island, staying at whatever resort we were staying at, and a gift. Just too much.

Have a fab day! Hopefully the sun comes out! I can't wait to be in Florida in two days!

good morning and congrats on being BOTW!!

I didn't want a big wedding, I wanted to elope or have a destination wedding but being that it is his 1st marriage(my 2nd) and he has a big Italian family, that just would be impossible.If I was going to do a destination wedding I would love Disney!!

I thought about it my family was going to Italy May of this year so I thought since my close family was already going there it would be perfect to get married there. But nope FH
wants a big ol traditional wedding. So that didn't happen.

We didn't really think about having a destination wedding because my 'cousin' is having a destination wedding and we felt like asking someone to pay to go out of country was a lot to ask from a lot of people esp since we have a decent size family.

I thought destination would be great before we started dating lol you envision something in your head and then I guess it's dependent on the couple. We knew we wanted all of our family and friends there. And I've always wanted a church wedding, and maybe a party overseas, but it wouldn't work with us, we are having over 230 guests!!

If my FH had his way, we would have had a destination wedding lol...I knew I wanted a wedding here, because we wanted all of our friends and family to share the day with us. If I had to choose, it would be in the Caribbean somewhere..I do love the idea of doing it at Disney though!!

The first thing my aunt told me after she congratulated us on our engagement was to elope!! I regret not listening to her lol
I have a big Italian family I couldn't imagine celebrating without them though.

My supervisor at work did tell me to run away to Vegas to get married when we first got engaged but FH and I never really considered a destination wedding. We knew we wanted our family and friends to celebrate with us and that meant a wedding in NY. If I could have a destination wedding, I would probably stick to doing it in Florida with the hope that more family and friends would be able to join us. Disney would be awesome!
