QOTD - 6/20/11

ok so for my first question.....

what is the one thing that stresses you out the most about wedding planning? And how do you deal wih it?

for me the most stressful thing (besides the cost) are the deadlines. the scheduling of when to pay each vendor, when we ned to have precanna done, when we need to get our license, the scheduling for that day for hair and makeup etc etc. all of it just overwhelms me. i definitely always feel like im gonna run out of time and miss something.

what i do that seems to help is i write my list everywhere!! FH makes fun of me because i have my to-do list with me at all times, i have a copy on my blackberry, a copy on my desk at work, and several copies at home. just the act of scratching something off a list is just so theraputic to me.

The thing that stresses me out the most... is that I'm doing this all by myself with some of FH's help with him working 2 jobs & I don't have a lot of time with a toddler running around to be able to sit there & get everything done. I deal with it by either complaining to FH or my mom & wind up crying. And then eventually sucking it up & getting done what has to be.

i think the hardest part is actually making a decision!!

I keep seeing new ideas about decor and colors, and cute little personalization things and i always change my mind!

FH wants to kill me... hes like just tell me what to wear and when to show up.

Just the budget really. Every few weeks I am calculating and recalculating the numbers. I get panicked thinking that we're not going to afford everything but doing the math to confirm that we can do this always makes me feel better.

the most stressful thing for me has been doing my invitiations. i'm a designer, i've done invites for other people, but having to design the invites that will be representing my own wedding is SO stressful. i've been playing mindgames with myself and putting it off, but now it's crunch time and i need to ship these to the printer ASAP. i know it's going to be so rewarding in the end... even after lining 225 envelopes all by myself... ahha

The only times I had any sort of freak outs was due to money issues. And the funny thing was is we were never behind with payments or even with our saving. I just randomly thought 'What if I'm calculating wrong and we don't have enough saved?' Pretty much I freaked myself out for no reason whatsoever. I dealt with it by sitting down, taking a breather and then looking over our saving plan and where we were and how much more we needed and realized everything was fine. I also just took little breaks from the wedding planning in general. It really helps to think about other things for a while during planning because then you just get too caught up.

I'd have to say I stress out the most over money. I freak out like once a week thinking that we aren't going to be able to afford everything. FH calms me down though, he's good with money and finances thank god!

Stressed over the budget. And this site is the best and worst thing....because I always see and find new cute details to add, which costs more money. So always trying to recalculate and have enough money for the worst case scenario.

And the guest list....ugh....

cultural differences between my family and FH's family have definitely been the most difficult thing so far and trying to handle it in a diplomatic way that doesn't create tension on either side
