We are back to school, back to work..Its a new Season. TV show's start up again, its getting cooler....
So I was thinking about a question to start out LIW '09 New Season
Do you have a moment in your life that has helped define or shape who you are? A sort life altering moment
For me its been a few that has made me the woman I am today.
But the main one is a few easier ago. I was doing a show in Michigan. I never fit in, in general, so I went in saying 'I'm going to really think about things and do better'.
Through a series of events the director came to me a week before my birthday and said people in the cast were complaining about me and just could not stand me. It was CRUSHING...ESPECIALLY since I was TRYING to change, and failing miserably.
To make a long story short I had a long talk with one of my friends and the director. We figured out what was really going on. At the end of the show the director said he has never seen a person go through as much personal growth as I have.
The moral is it changed my life and was a defining moment. I learned some harsh things about life, but affirmed what an amazing person I was.
That moment changed my life and who I am today for the better

This is a great question! It really got me thinking about my life.
At 41, there have been so many moments that have defined me and have made me who I am today. It's so hard to pick one to share, but here goes.
I was engaged when I was 24 years old. I thought I would be with him forever. At that point, we were together for 4 years. However, as soon as the diamond ring was on my finger, I started having doubts. I didn't want to plan a wedding, didn't want to think about anything wedding-related. I started getting panic attacks - it was just awful. I realized that he wasn't the person for me and I couldn't spend the rest of my life with him. As soon as I realized it, I was calm. However, I had to tell him.
It was such a horrible moment. I tried to handle it with grace and tact, but needed to get the point across that it was over - there was no going back. It was one of the worst moments of my life, but it made me so much stronger.
From that moment, I learned that I can't go along with what others want just to appease everyone. I'm the one who has to be happy and it taught me to take care of myself before taking care of anyone else.

What a GREAT story, and a great conclusion. I hope all the women on this board can see what you did. We dont have to please everyone, and sometimes we DO come first!!
Im so glad you are happy!

Ooo, this is a great question. Hmmm...
For me it may even be as simple as this:
I am a twin, and being a twin you're constantly looked at as two people, not one and one.
So I think deciding to leave my twin sister and both of us go to different colleges really helped shape who we are, because for the first time in my life - i learned what the differences were between us.
