~*~*~*~*~*~Q.O.T.D~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Good morning ladies! I hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

For Tuesday's QOTD...
What was it that inspired your wedding theme and/or your vision?

I was thinking about my wedding 'theme' the other day and I'm not sure if I really have one! For me I guess it’s more about my vision and how I want things to look and the feeling that people get when they walk into the ballroom. I am aiming for lots and lots of romance and elegance with a bit of a vintage feel. When I first got engaged and starting flipping through bridal mags I came across this beautiful bouquet that was so vintage looking – lots of green antique hydrangeas and light pink roses – and I started thinking about BM dress colors that would look nice w/ that and how I could tie my gown into that look also. So, I guess flowers have inspired me the most!

Our RH....it really has kind of an older feeling. It was established in 1929 and has sort of a Hamptons, blue blood, old money sort of feel...so we're trying to incorporate some vintage touches into the wedding.

The time of the year. Before we postponed our wedding we were going to have an all Halloween wedding but since it is now the day before I am still keeping some of the same things such as the pumpkin centerpieces but now I am going for fall romantic, lots of candles, deep fall colors, brown and green BM dresses, lush flowers in coppers, yellows, red, oranges, ect.

i think the hall itself has inspired a lot of the choices i have made for my wedding. The Woodlands has the old fashioned charm that has made me lean towards more classic, romantic things rather than a more modern look to my wedding.

also, when we booked the woodlands they said there is a cherry blossom tree that looks beautiful in april...so i have incorporated cherry blossoms in my ceremony, CPs, and invitations.

i just love the simplicity and fragile-ness of cherry blossoms. so im trying to incorporate that concept with light and mutes colors, flowy dresses...nothing too structured or poofy.

centerpieces will be branches with some orchid blooms tied to it. will have uplighting too

just going for that simple, romantic look.

hope it gets pulled off okay!

Honestly, my sister's wedding in 1991. Ok ok, so yea the styles were different, but just the idea of the BIG wedding, with lots of glitz and glamour. I was her flower girl, and ever since then, I've always wanted the BIG wedding and to be the center of attention. Between a combination of that and Cinderella, I always knew I wanted to be a princess on my wedding day........now if only I could've afforded Oheka.......

From the beginning, we always wanted a fall wedding. I love the way the deep fall colors look and I wanted our guests to get that WOW factor....I love coppers and golds and really want it to have a warm, romantic and elegant feel........

I love brown colors and knew I wanted to have that in my BM dresses, CP, invites, etc....

We're both earth-friendly veggie-crunchy kind of people. We're hellbent on throwing a vegetarian, environmentally-friendly affair that's classy and elegant. We're not looking to stand on a soapbox, but we do think that the menu choices and overall 'feel' of the reception will kind of give hints at people that that's what we're going for.

SC was amazing with helping us with these ideas. And the fact that it's full of beautiful gardens only helps our vision!

My personal taste and favorite color inspired my vision. At first I was going to do fall colors for my wedding, but when I sat down and thought about it... I hated all the fall colors, it wasn't me. We are using pinks which I love! We are doing a really elegant and regal vision, which is definitely 'me' and my taste.

I think it was a CP i saw when we first got engaged. It was a tall cp of flowers w/curly willows coming out of the top and candles hanging from it. It was romantic but had a modern feel to it. I knew i didn't want the whole pink/cream colored or any pastel shades in my wedding. Since we're getting married in the fall I went with deep jewel tones.
When I picture the actual room I see the walls lit with a deep purple and rose color w/candlelight all around. Oh, and our monogram lit on the dance floor.

What inspired us..........I don't know. We just did what we do THROW A PARTY!
We are not the traditional type: No RH we are doing a backyard party at my uncle's. No limos, we will arrive on FH vintage Harley Davidson (with me in the side car) It will be back yard madness where we'll probably end up in the pool!
The theme & vison is based on what we normally do............
PARTY HARD!

Our invites!! I had been cruising the aisles of Michael's and I saw the damask DIY invites and loved them. I bought a box and brought them home to FH and he liked them, too. Ever since, I've been damask crazy!

Ours too! My ring that fh picked out for me is has a vintage look to it.
Walking into the rh, the mansion which was a wedding gift from her father built in 1910, you def get that feeling of vintage. I cannot wait to see it all pulled together.

Re: ~*~*~*~*~*~Q.O.T.D~*~*~*~*~*~*~

my obsession with GREEN.
thats my fav color and I just wanted that as our color, and to me green and white always scream wedding, always wanted to do that even before getting engaged
and then our date turned out to be in spring, so it tied well into that as well.
another thing was when me and FH were talking about what represents us as individuals and as a couple 'tree' was the word we both used, so we went with it for our STD, invite, hopefully CP's and some other stuff
I love it, gives our wedding a very fresh and fun look
