QOTD 6/6

why did you/are you picking the girls you're having as MOH/BM's? and when are you/how did you ask them?

MOH is my sister Lisa, I asked her right away. I gave a book on being MOH.

My bridesmaid are my cousin Tara and my two best friends, Kristi & Emily. I asked each of them with a card, 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' and gave them each a little something to go with it.

My MOH is my sister Cookie, i asked her right away by taking her out to dinner

I want to do the Will you be my BM cards as well ... i just have to figure out how big of a bridal party i want to have so im still deciding but all the ppl i have in mind are my Bff since like kindergarden and my sis and bro

My best friend is my MOH...I wanted to ask her in person but she was having a really bad day so I asked her over the phone.

My BMs are my two cousins, my old rommate from college, and my sister.

My sister would have been my MOH but she's only 12 (she'll be 14 for the wedding) and I figured it would be too much responsibility- b ut she's happy as MOH!

I just asked everyone when I saw them. Except my sister she was the first to know!!

Well I had a bit of an issue with this. I knew right away who was my maid of honor...and I asked her on Christmas...right after we got engaged. My friend Rachel and Briana I also just asked. But one of the girls that I asked ended up dropping out of the bp...so I am going to replace her with 2 more people. I havent asked them yet- but when I do I am going to use the 'Will you be my bridesmaids? card.

Let's see I asked my MOH's (Yes I have three) informally. (Long story).
My younger sister just has to be my MOH, I basically raised her, but by the time the wedding rolls around she will be a freshman in college and I don't want her worrying about the wedding.

My second MOH or as I would call him my 'homey of honor' is you guessed it, a guy. He is a very best friend of mine since HS, and he is like a brother to me. He will be beginging his first year of Med school when the wedding goes down. Fh said it was okay if I put him as a groomsmen aka honorary Homey of honor.

My third is my really great friend and my college roommate. We met our freshman year and we have been inseparable since then, she Chinese and I'm Trinidadian/Bajan, so we're Blackense and we mesh like no one's business. She has been there for through all of my middle of the night asthma attacks. She has a great sense of style and is soo very talented artistically.

I addition to those motioned above I will have a cousin and probably two more friends at BM's. On fh's side he will have my little brother and his friends.

I asked my cousin and my FH's cousin, no way in particular, just asked them...

i am not asking any friends to avoid drama (i would want to pick some over others) and keeping my BP small.

My MOH is my best friend since 6th grade. and i aksed her the night i got engaged. two of the other girls are my other two closet friends and i dont remember how i asked them, i think it was when i was planning something and i just blurted it out to them. and then the other two are my sister in law and FH sister. im hoping my other brother is still with his current gf because i love her and would like her to be in it, but its still a new relationship and i dont want to ask till it more serious and the wedding gets closer.

I've got two MOH's, thats it. I've got two best friends and wouldnt think to pick one over the other. Luckily FH also has two best friends so it works out. We were back and forth on the idea of a wedding party because when we made the tentative list it got too large for our taste (14 or so ) and a lot of the people on there we felt obligated to choose. so instead, we cut it out all together, so now no one feels hurt because we didnt include them but we included so and so.
FH put it best when he said when he pictures his wedding, the only people he needs up there are me and his two best friends, he cant picture it without them. thats really what made the final decision easier. plus we feel like having just them, we can make it a lot more special, even going as far as paying for tuxes/dresses.

I still havent made a final decision as to how many people in total, but I do know that my MOH is going to be my fathers best friends daughter, she has been my friend since i was a baby, we grew up together and i know for a fact that she would be there for me no matter what. My two BM's that i have decided on are my two cousins one will be almost 20 at the time of the wedding and the other will be 17...i dont look at the two of them like cousins, i look at them like my sisters and they look at me like a sister too. I can go to them with anything and they can come to me for anything (for the love of all things I bailed the older one out of jail for her experimental shoplifting phase...) I will have FH's sister be the junior BM.
I am thinking about adding a 3rd BM but i am not sure...i was thinking about a friend from high school that i still am in contact with but not that often bc she lives in AZ...not sure about her yet.

I want to know where this bp trend has come from...I really like the idea of a bp but I feel that it adds some stress to the whole wedding planning...even though I think the origin was supposed to be with the intent that the girls were there to help!

i dont have a sister so my MOH is my best friend...i've known her since 1st grade.
the other girls so far are my 2 SIL's, another good friend, my cousin, FH's good friend....and i might ask 2 of my other friends

I havent asked anyone yet but I know my MOH will be my sister. I want to get her the will you be my bridesmaid cookies or doll. All of my girls will be long time friends and cousins
