We all know that family approval really makes a relationship easier and a relationship can become SO hard if family and the person that we're with don't get along.
How about friends? Do your friends like FH? Would you care if they didn't? Do FH's friends like you? How would you feel if they didn't?

FH had previously dated girls with catty biatchy friends who would smile in his face but talk smack about him behind his back. Because of this, he was afraid to meet my friends when we started dating and I remember he'd NEVER come out when I invited him to a friend's party. He's pretty shy around new people so I guess he felt the pressure to impress or something.
Anyway, when he finally met them, they all loved him and he saw that they were great, sweet girls who supported me. They've NEVER talked badly of FH and that of course, only made me love him more! My bridesmaids for example, really went out of their way to make him feel part of the group and bake him stuff and that really makes me love them even more. One of them sent him a Portugal Polo shirt this christmas and he was SO touched it was adorable.
My friend's opinions matter to me so I am relieved they approve and it's only helped our relationship.
His friends loved me from the beginning. How could they not

My friends opinion matters to a degree. I have to go with my gut. My friends like my FH. My closest friends really like him and took the time to get to know him. My parents were a little distant from him for a while....but thats because they dont like to get involved until it gets serious. But now they love him. My FH and my dad are like BFFs lol. They are both obsessed with the Yankees, fantasy baseball, boxing, fighting, etc.

I think on the whole all of my friends like FH, and I think (and hope) his friends like me.
Ultimately it doesn't matter if they don't like the other person, but honestly it would be really hard to be a couple if friends didn't like one party. It would make doing things outside of the house/dates really hard and would make life pretty dull. I absolutely love being able to go have dinner, or go for bike rides, or ski, or dive, or do a whole bunch of other things with other people - it makes life more fun

My friends love my FH! And I love that they love him for many reasons - and I think they tend to compare my ex with him and he's like the complete opposite of my ex, who my friends liked, but not w/ me.
My friend's opinion are very important b/c they don't hold out and it would break my heart to listen to what they think of him if they didn't like him.
FH's friends are weird - but I know his best man loves me and said that if FH messes up, he's going to marry me And if they didn't like me, I would be really upset.

We are lucky that we had a lot of friends in common..and they all like us
If they did not like FH it would not really bother me I have never cared too much about what others thought..but that is just me
So while friends liking the other person is nice for us it is not necessary

FH had met my friends before we had started dating - and we actually met through a friend, so there was no issue with that.
FH has a big circle of college friends - i can talk to a wall if needed so i wasn't really nervous but they are all so great and seem to really enjoy me (especially compared to his EX who seemed to have burned a lot of bridges).
We have been lucky that things have come easy on both sides.

Our friends love us both together, so we have no problems. FH and I keep to ourselves most of the time though.

We are both close with his fraternity, and both my family and friends ADORE him! Our friends have been great support- since his family is not.

ITA - or even worse - they try to tell him to break up w/ you. But most of FH's friends are always travelling so I never really see them. But FH says they like me.

My friends are a big part of my life. I have dealt with past relationships where either my boy friend did not like my friends or the revers or both, so it is important to me that my FH and friends get along, and they do!!! Everyone likes each other!!

obviously my friends opinions would matter...BUT only to an extent. my MOH actually had reservations about my FH... but i stuck with my gut and i'm glad i did. she and i are just very different ppl and what she looks for in a mate is very different than what i look for... so even though i value her opinion, it's my life and i'm going to do with it what i want~

I was really nervous for my friends and my FH to meet when we first started dating because my friends are my second family, I've known most of them since i was 10 years old and they have helped me go through some of the worst times of my life. But my FH is such an amazing person, they loved him from the start. But either way, I know even if my friends didnt love my FH and they knew how much in love with him I am, they would have supported me. So it matters, to a degree!
But I will say, its definitely easier if your friends like your FH. One of my friends is having issues with another friends boyfriend and whenever we all hang out, its really tense!

My friends all like my fiance because he is super nice, although he is very shy. Initially, some mistake shyness as being stand offish, but eventually they realize and accept he is a shy and quiet person.
MY fiance's friends definitely like me, sometimes more than him :o).

if anything its me who doesnt like a few of FH's friends...but I deal and play nice
I think it would be very difficult if my friends or family didnt like FH...not sure if Id let it affect me to the point where we broke up... IMO a true friend wouldnt get in the way of true love!

My friends for the most part love FH. There was this one friend however who hated him with a passion and then slinked so effin low to lie to his ex-wife about me saying they couldn't be friends to break us up!! When I had asked her what the heck was she thinking and why did she effin lie like that...she was like ask your perfect boyfriend...ummm what did he ever do to you???? PSYCHO...so I dropped her like a bad habit.

Is it hard to keep quiet sometimes?? FH had a friend who was kinda a skeezebag...I never said anything to FH - FH seemed to be friends with him more out of obligation (they were childhood friends) but it was obvious his friend never grew up.
When FH started voicing his annoyance at the guy's immaturity, I would try to stay as nice as possible but openly agreeing with FH's observations and eventually FH dropped him
