so I had a strange conversation last weekend w a bunch of friends at a BBQ. Yes, alcohol was involved lol.
They came up with some really interesting responses. Let's see what my 2011 brides come up with.
If you HAD to have your wedding on a holiday, which would it be and why?
Mind you, one person said Arbor day bc of renewal of life and trees etc. One person said talk like a pirate day...ARRRGH! One said, chocolate pudding day. lol
So basically you're not limited to the known holidays.
Let's go!
My answer is obvious. Halloween and yes we thought about doing it last year on Halloween but the $ wasn't there. :(

Re: *~*~*QOTD 7/1/10*~*~*
I would definitely say Christmas (although I don't know how many guests would show lol) because FH and I drunkenly made out the night of our office holiday party
That was what set off the chain of events for us.

Hmmm. Definitely a thought provoking question!
If I can make it up, I'd have it on 'national three day weekend' weekend.
That way no one would have holiday plans (because you know we are going to pretend here that no one would make plans on a free day off), and I could get married on Sunday to save a few bucks and everyone would still have off the next day!

Def would pick Christmas! I LOVE christmas.. it is my favorite holiday! But, I would never think about doing near christmas because 1) FH doesnt like winter time haha 2) Most people have family things going on 3) people usually are broke from gift shopping and I would never want to impose on anyone.
My Other Option would be June 19th because its 'Butterfly Day'!! I am beyond obsessed with butterflies and I would love to have a totally butterfly themed wedding!! FH would not go for this though haha!

Memorial Day (yea i know im having my wedding on memorial day weekend and thats what i always wanted) BUUUTTT i would want a BBQ outside - with picnic tables in an old barn (that doesnt smell). I would want people drinking beer - a pig roasting (sorry to the veggies out there) red and white checkered table clothes - and sparklers all around.

I would do it on Memorial Day weekend. We met on May 29th and I wanted to get married on May 29th next year buit FH thought people wouldn't come to the weddings - yadda yadda - whole fight about that - but that's another story.

Probably on the 4th of july since it is our anniversary. When we got engage, we thought about doing it 7/4/10, but realized we would not have enough money,

Re: *~*~*QOTD 7/1/10*~*~*
FH really wanted to do Halloween he wanted everyone to come in costume and wanted to make like a haunted hallway leading into the reception hall and he wanted to dress up as Frankenstein and told me to do my hair in a beehive and wear a black wedding dress! but FHs parents are paying for it and they weren't to fond of the idea
