1st I would like to thank Kris for nominating me - THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!
and now onto my 1st QOTD (this is so exciting I'm so nervous):
What is the scariest thing that have ever happen ed to you and your FH? How did you deal with it?
sorry to be so grim right off the bat, but yesterday to me and Geremie happened the scariest thing, thus the inspiration for this Q. FH was lying on the bed after we came back from a very relaxing day at the pool, and our bad was under the window, I asked him to open the window because it was very hot. 5 min into him lying down, I hear a big boom - the glass window fell on his face and broke into gazillion little pieces He started screaming, I was screaming, blood everywhere! I cant even describe how is it to see you're dear loved one with a face of glass I was so scared... So I took him to the ER, I actually drove there, and I don't even drive anymore! They did a CAT scan and cleaned his wound, and thank God it't only a few scrapes on his face. I can't even think of how it could've been.... Only in the hospital I really let myself cry - I was sure when I saw him lying there under all that glass that I have lost him.
So how about you guys?

Definitely the scariest for us was went FH had to go to the ER. We had been dating about 7 months or so. As some of you might recall from my past posts - FH works on oil tankers for a living - so, he goes to work for 3 weeks at a time, then comes home for 3 weeks. Well, I knew his boat was somewhere in NY harbor and he was at work... My cellphone rang while I was on the train coming home from work and it was FH - and FH never would normally call me at that time - so I knew something was up. He sounded so weak and asked me if I could come to a hospital in Staten Island because he was on his way there and being admitted to the ER - I freaked. So...by the time I finally got to him - I was so scared...especially seeing him in the ER on a hospital bed. That, by far, was the scariest time for us...I was so scared for him. I ended up bringing him home a few hours later...and thank god he was ok...

nothing really...this isnt anything as serious as you ladies have experienced but we went shopping and when we came out the car was gone! We walked back and forth until we assumed it was stolen....then we realized the car had been TOWED (we parked in a no standing zone)

OMG Regina, I'm so glad he's ok!!!
A couple of scary things have happened in the nine+ years we've been together... Here's 2.
We were in Vermont in 2002 and we went snow mobiling for the first time. The guide put us on a closed course that was super tight! FH didn't steer very well and kept going into snow banks. I got in front and I was doing so well! It was pretty fun... Until I caught air going around a tight turn and then crashed into a tree throwing us both off the snow mobile and into some trees. That was so scary for both of us. I was banged up the worst with ligament damage behind my left knee and a TON of black and blues. FH hurt his back, but he was ok in the end. I had PTSD for a long time and every time I closed my eyes, I saw the accident happening.
Now another scary thing, FH says to me the other day, 'I have an appointment in August to have a non-cancerous Malignant mass removed from my throat.' You should have seen my face! I am so worried! The doctor said he will be fine and they may not even have to fully sedate him, but can you imagine hearing news like this??

When I was hospitalized last February I know he was beside himself.
FH is very accident prone so I'm becoming more and more used to it but it never really gets any better seeing him in pain

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy to hear that he is ok!!!! Geezzz what a freakish thing to happen!!!!
FH is FDNY so I honestly (I try hard NOT to let my head go there) worry about him every time he goes to work. One time there was a very bad fire in Brooklyn (where he works) and it was all over the news all day. I was a wreak thinking something could happen to him at any moment.......
Thank goodness no fireman was hurt that day!!!

Your welcome, Regy! You deserve it! Glad to hear your FH is doing okay too!
On to the answer...
Last year, I went in for my annual gyno visit, only I hadn't gone in a couple of years (shame on me). The doctor called back with results saying that it looked like there was a precancerous growth of cells and that she needed to do a biopsy and run some tests. I was really scared and so was FH, even though he tried not to show it. He was also afraid that he somehow caused this to happen. We were afraid that it would mean trouble conceiving, and that was really the first time that we talked about the possibility of having kids - we were always 100% NO WAY on it. We're still kind of not into the idea of popping out any rugrats, but it definitely brought us closer together. All in all, I just needed an in-office procedure to laser off all of the cells (gross, sorry) and he was there for me afterwards when I had some cramping and pains. Now I just go every few months for check-ups and so far, so good (knocks wood). He drives me to all of my appointments since the doctor is on the Island and I'm in Queens. Dealing with a crisis always brings people closer together...

He was only my BF at the time... but he went out in Long Beach, and I thought he was with some of his cousins, but he got seperated from them... and stumbled out of the bar and there was a fight right out side... so he got mixed up in the fight, and wound up taking a bottle across his face...
He was found by cops on trying to get into someones house. He was soooo annnnnnebriated that they knew he wasnt trying to break in and steal something.... they just saw that his face was cut open and he was bleeding so they called an ambulance.
I got a 3 am phone call from his mother that he was in the hospital. This was 2 days before my brothers wedding in 2003.
My mother had shattered her ankle the week before... she didnt cry when she did that, but she cried when I called her to tell her my sister and I were on the way to the hospital... so needless to say my brothers wedding was a less than fun experience...

The scariest thing that has happened for myself and FH was last summer. In July of last summer I found a lump in my breats. On July 28, 2009 I recieved a phone call from Nassau Radiology telling me that I had a small cancer. I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to have a bi lateral mastectomy last august. The results of that was that my 'small cancer' was actaully stage II triple negative breast cancer and my small cancer was a 4.6cm tumor. The surgery was then followed by 6 months of harsh chemotherapy. I think that was the worst thing we had to go through. To this day he tells me it was he worst thing he ever had to do was watch me when I was soo sick. For six months I lost my hair, lost my coloring, and felt more pain than I ever have in my entire life. On Feb 6 I was told by my great oncologist that I was cancer free. I started to grow my hair back and lose my chemo weight. I am now doing well and planning our future together CANCER FREE. The only good thing that came out of that was that we found out that our relationship can endure anything. We now know we are stronger than we thought. Love does truly conquer all.

wow thats crazy im glad hes ok
about 3 yrs ago I was driving on the highway with fh in the passenger seat and my car hydroplaned....i didnt know what to do so i slammed on the brakes (which only made it worse i should have pumped them) we spun around a few times and all i could think was that we were going to die...luckily there were no cars around us and my car finally stopped spinning once we hit the divider...we were absolutey fine and my car just got a scratch but it was the longest and scariest few seconds of our lives.

Long story short because I don't like to tell it in detail......a few days before Christmas a few years ago, we got into a terrible car accident, and well, someone died. It was terrifying, and we both ended up going through therapy together and individually to get through it.

Congratulations Regina!!!! On BOTW!!!!!! Wow I am glad that Geremie is okay, that must have been so scary for you both.
I think that I have posted stuff about this before - In August 2006 I went golfing with my FH at the deer park 9 hole golf course that is opened late night, when I got to the first hole and I went to swing my club. All of a sudden I felt really strange and my vision faded to grey and before I fell to the ground Anthony grabbed my arm – I blacked out for a few seconds (thinking that I had fainted, which never happened to me before) when I came to Anthony was over me and everything was blurry and spinning – me being me wanted to continue to play, but Anthony wanted to call an ambulance - but I won and we played, by the time I got to the 3rd hole I felt really wobbly and we decided to leave. I went to the doctors the next morning and they took a CAT scan (where they found something on my brain) then I got sent for MRI, blood work, I have been neurologists, and neuro sergeants and it turns out that I had had a stroke – yes a healthy 26 year old had a stroke!!! It’s CRAZY but I am happy that Anthony was with me through the whole thing, and he still comes with me for my 6 month checkups and MRIs!
sorry so long!!!!!!!!

I never before read the whole story of how u came about finding out that u had a stroke. so scary and sad so good that everything turned out to be ok and ur now healthy. so great that we all have our someone to be there for and that is there for us. life is less scary this way
