QOTD 7/29

I can't think of anything except the way we handle money. I'm more of a 'liberal' spender than he is. With everything else, we are very much alike. Too much, I think!

He's a little bit of a lazy slob while I'm organized and driven. I'm the only girl and my brothers and father are all big construction guys with the construction guy machismo. I can build stairs and install handrails where my FH is white color worker that can't hammer in a nail to save his life. This KILLS my brothers. Kills FH too that I can do a 'man's' job and he has to be my helper. Brothers would be a lot happier I think if I was with a blue collar guy with calloused hands. Think his love of sports saves him from being completely ostracized by them

Oh God, we are the same way mostly.
FH is a bit too nonchalant and relaxed while I on the other hand am very assertive and a bit high energy! He can be stingy with his money and thats okay but the I'm 'Miss independent' that likes to spoil herself, well not anymore...We handle money differently as well, he has the 1950's mentality somewhat, he think that the woman should handle all the bill paying and some domestic stuff lol, so I make him do laundry and clean. Sorry, I am a feminist! Oh and I am really strong and know a lot about the mechanics of a car because my dad would teach me as a little girl and FH gets mad whenever I show how strong I am I guess it makes him feel less manly, whatever I guess what makes up for that is that I am 5'2 and he is 6 feet so he has that 'yeah I'm the man' thingy going on.

OMG that whole gender role thing kills me. I was raised where the lines were more gray than defined. Both of my parents cleaned, did laundry, did yard work and home renovation. My mom had no problem knocking down walls or putting up moulding. FH was raised by his Portuguese father and Italian mother. Gender roles were very defined. Was hard for him when we first got together because I am a strong woman that's independent and smart. He's gotten used to it, especially since I do make sure to cook him special meals all the time and do lots of little suzie homemaker things to keep him happy.

welli think i def have more energy than he does, although i like to relax i prefer to wake up and get things done where he'd rather sleep until 1pm.

other than that we are actually VERY much alike which is good and bad

FH thinks logically while I think emotionally. It works well though because he's my voice of reason sometimes. He can also be a slob sometimes and it drives me crazy because I am a neat freak. When listening to music I like to hear a song all the way out while he on the other hand will listen to half a song and change it i mean, hello! I was listening to that! lol. There's a few other little things but other than that, we're pretty much alike.

i'm a party girl and he likes to stay home. he's messy (aka a slob) and i'm very organized. i can be very determined about something and he's not. i get very angry very fast and he doesn't (he knows how to calm me down which i love lol)

we do balance eachother though.

in some ways we are very different and then in other ways we are very alike. he is a workaholic, loves sports, and very impatient. I just go to work and do my job, not into sports-just watch racing, and have patience for the both of us. but we both are very satisfied with just lying around watching tv snuggling

hmm differences i can think of: hes a huge sports fan and gets really angry if a team of his loses, i'm just like 'hey whatever..' hes a giant comic book dork too LOL..

But we do share the same sense of humor and i think because our personalities fit, we are great together.

FH has SO much patience, where I am just in a rush to get everything done. He is definitely more laid back then I am... I worry about everything, he's pretty much 'Hey whatever'.

He's more organized and definitely more into home improvement than I am. He likes to get stuff accomplished and I'm pretty lazy...

It's all good though, it works out.. it's like yin and yang.

I am the biggest procrastinator with everything (excpet wedding planning!) and FH will do things right away.

His love of sports...and I'm still trying to figure out the difference between a touch down and a homerun (I'm sucha girl).
