At what point in your relationship did you realize that FH was not 'like the other guys.' I know that sometimes it take trials and tribulations to get to that point of realization, and I would love to hear you lovely ladies stories.
Have a happy wednesday to all. I will be super busy today but look forward to chatting with you later on this evening!

Re: QOTD 7/30
I can't explain it, but I just knew. He was so sweet, and was such a gentleman. Now that we've been together for almost 4 years, that has all changed!

I'm not going to lie and tell you that our relationship has been a walk in the park. We started dating when I was 20 and he was 18, so we have pretty much grow into adulthood together and it wasn't easy. The first time we realized that this was something really special was actually when we broke up for a little while a several years ago ! We both realized how much we truly meant to eachother.....and here we are today!

Re: QOTD 7/30
he was my first boyfriend. before him i had to chase other guys that i liked & they didn't wanna be bothered. the first time i meet him was on valentines day. he came to my house with one of his friends who brought me flowers that year & i commented on how nice his coat was. then FH chimed in & said oh i let him borrow my coat. 8 days later was my 16th birthday. & my friend asked if he could bring him over to my house for cake. at the time i was a big wrestling fan & all my friends were joking around about my cake & he said he liked it & it showed what i liked & thats when i knew that he was different then everyone else. & 8 years later we r planning our wedding.

We were each others first everythings. I was the one who technically initiated the courtship, I didn't know what it was about him but he I could just feel that he was special. Our friendship and relationship just began to blossom immediately, and this maybe TMI but when we decided to 'exchange gifts', I knew he was it for me...so I always knew he was the one.

Immediately. Everything clicked so fast... He's so in tune to me it's amazing.
I also initiated our courtship (what did i have to lose!) and it was the best decision I ever made. It's not all sunshine and roses, but it's pretty dang close.

Re: QOTD 7/30
I would have to say after about 3 months of dating i kind of knew he was different. When we started seeing each other i had been single for a year after coming out of a on/off 6 year relationship and i was working two jobs and going to grad school, fh was working was also working two jobs-so the amount of time that we would see each other was limited to 2 nights a week (still is ). But he was ok with that and i loved that about him. My ex-boyfriends would always want to be around me 24/7 and almost smother me that i would end up getting sick of them.
I love the fact that during the week we both are free to do whatever it is we need to do and then come fri/sat that is our time to spend together-its what works for us for now.

Re: QOTD 7/30
Like Teri, I had been single for awhile after a disastrous 5.5 year relationship... and when I met FH I had actually stopped looking. I didn't see it coming.
What got me was how much I mattered to him. It was the opposite of my previous relationship, and at first I resisted it... because it was so foreign to me after THE MOST HORRIBLE RELATIONSHIP EVER.
It's so WONDERFUL to be in a healthy relationship I'm so glad it's going to last forever.
Thanks, Alesia! That's so sweet!

I was resisting FH for a while and he kept persisting after me it was sooo funny and all i kept saying was what does a 30 year old guy want with a 23 year old, and finally i gave in

Re: QOTD 7/30
my previous relationships for some reason always got rocky at 10 months...i would hit a point where everything annoyed me about that guy and then everything would fall apart....i warned FH of this....we made it past that 10 month with zero problems and it really made me look at him differently...and here we are 2 years and 4 months later...engaged to be married

Re: QOTD 7/30
We were friends first for a while and I just couldn't wait to see him when we had plans. pretty soon we were hanging out all the time and having sleep overs....nothing naughty just sleep. It was weird. He respected me and saw me for who I was and didn't let my size stop him from getting to know me. Felt so comfortable with him and could totally be myself. I initiated cause we kept going back and forth about what was going on (plus he was in the middle of a divorce). I don't know. I just knew we'd be together forever. It just feels normal.....I can't explain it. Feel like we've been together forever because there's no fuss or muss. It just works. Feels like this is exactly what has been missing.

Re: QOTD 7/30
I knew pretty early on but there were so many different things that happend in our first year and he just kept validating with his actions that he was here for the long run. The first year we were together we had a pregnancy scare (false alarm), I had MAJOR issues with my father, my 1st semester college grades took a nose dive, and my health hit a scarey place. Through it all he was there and it meant a lot to me because I don't even know if I would have stayed if I were him.

Re: QOTD 7/30
when he kept asking me to have sex with him. seriously, instead of asking me to go out with him...he kept asking me to have sex with him . oh that made him different all right.
like Joanne, i was in a horrible 8 year relationship (i was engaged) and man o man was it bad. i was single for almost 2 years when my boy came around. we hung out and talked and he was a sweetheart. He truly is caring and NICE (and very persistent when he wants to be)....something i never really had before.
he stuck by side through a lot of sh*t and after the sex (even though that's all i thought it was going to be)

Re: QOTD 7/30
when he yelled at me when i opened my own car door. he told me he would always open the car door for me and that was his responsibility. and two and a half years later and he still opens the door everything time without fail.
