We're in August ladies! Today's question is about things you regret doing since being engaged revolving wedding planning. Was there a co worker that you told about your wedding that you wish you hadn't? Did you make an impulsive decision that wasn't well thought out? Think hard, I know there has to be something!

Haha... there is one person we told about it, we wish we hadn't. FH and I have (had?) a mutual friend named Caryn, who has a bit of a crush on FH, but it's harmless... so whatever.
When we first got engaged she met us with a bunch of friends for dinner... she asked to see the ring, so when I showed her, her exact words were: Wow, it's so tiny!!
Needless to say, she's no longer invited to our wedding I wouldn't want to offend her with my small engagement ring. (It's just over a carat, not that small) FH felt so bad he wanted to upgrade it right away, but I LOVE IT and want to get married with the ring he proposed with... we'll talk about upgrades after the wedding.

Honestly, haven't regretted anything - YET. I keep everything pretty quiet and don't talk to too many people about my plans. I dont speak about it in my office because I don't know what that situation is going to be by 2010 (co-worker wise). If people want to know something, they need to ask and then I decide whether or not to tell them. Everyone has their own opinion about stuff like this. I find if you don't talk about what you're planning, not too much can be said.

I regret letting FH's parents getting to have a say in what hall we chose, everytime i would visit a place and say i like this place, they would say no and tell me to go to other places, it was driving me nuts and caused me to have a little bit of a breakdown. Granted I love the hall we are having because of them driving me nuts, but we are spending more now because of it too.

I kind of wish I would have looked at a few more halls. I felt a little rushed to get a date since everything in 2009 I wanted was either too expensive or booked.

I agree, i feel like i rushed into booking a place. There are soooo many halls out there but i felt like i got sick of seeing them so i went w/ the one i felt most excited at!

Re: QOTD 8/1
I regret jumping to conclusions about the bridal party I've always envisioned in my head. It got out of control quickly (8 bm's) and the pressure of all the cost made me stress out so bad that I got a rash. I cut my BP down to family only and it was even harder breaking the news to my friends, but thank God they're all logical and completely understand and back me up.
Through this process of planning, I'm learning to shut my mouth when necessary because everything that you THINK you want is not necessarily what you need or even end up wanting. I've learned so much about myself through this process and I'm focusing on the bigger picture now (me and FH getting married), instead of all the hoopla around it. In the beginning, I temporarily lost sight of that.

I do sort of regret not researching Fall 2009 dates better. I don't want to wait till 2010!! A good friend of mine just got engaged and will be getting married in 2009...I'd be lying to say I wasn't a bit envious of that!

I regret that we weren't financially prepared for this. He said he NEVER wanted to get married again so parents never worried about it and neither did we. Would have loved to get married sooner but it is what it is. At least with all this time I can do all the research I can to make sure I get the best vendors for us.

Same here...we knew we were eventually going to ger married, but we didnt start saving a penny for it until we booked the hall. I guess it finally made it 'real' and we had to kick our butts into high gear and its been hard.

My engagement was a surprise to me, and since I was only supporting myself I had some 'fall back' money in case I ever got laid off or whatever, but not enough for a wedding or a home... so now we're both saving $$$$, but we didn't start until after the engagement. So I know how you both feel.
