I got about 100 yards down the street and had to turn around Bc the water was too deep to drive through. Thankfully I can work from home

I live at exit 39 on the southern state, so I had to take the back roads to get to exit 37 so I could get on the parkway and get to work. I worked from home most of the morning though.

My son and I both had drs appointments, I cancelled them. I didn't even bother driving. The roads are terrible! Be safe everyone!

I've been bailing/pumping/etc. water out since 5:30 am. This is actually the first time Ive been able to sit for more than 5 minutes without worrying that it is going to flood. Our sump pump broke (of course!) so we had to find and borrow a whole bunch from everyone we knew....AND do the good old fashioned method of filling buckets and running them to the street (which was more like a river) to dump them. My brother's and my mom's boyfriend's car were parked in the street and they both got a few inches of water in them. We're crossing our fingers they'll start in a day or so when they dry out.
I'm still using a manual shop-vac to take water out of the basement stairs so it doesn't come into the house bc the water table is so high, but I only have to do it every 15 minutes now, instead of continuously. It's been a great day.

FH works in as an auto damage adjuster...He's booked both days this weekend to go see all the flood claims. thankfully, no rivers by us.
