Sorry to be a downer on this beautiful Saturday, but my Grandpa passed away this morning :(

For todays question I would like to know....

How do you plan on honoring/including/remembering your loved ones that have passed on your wedding day?

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear that!

We have no idea, it's horrible to say but there are so many so we'll probably just keep it to remembering my dad, and his grandparents.

Sorry to hear that.
Not sure if I will do anything because I'm afraid it will make me more emotional than I already will be.

I'm sorry for your loss

For our memoriams/rememberances, we are doing a couple of things...

FHs father passed away from cancer 9 years ago, and he was basically FHs best friend...and for me, my Grandmother, who I adored, passed away 2 years ago next week.

We don't want anything to be too morbid or saddenning because they wouldn't want it to be like that...

so we're putting a 'In Honor of' section in our programs, and I had 2 memorial candles made one for each, they will be on the mantle behind where FH and I sit at the RH next to a picture of each of them...and we jus discussed having my mother light my grandmas candle and FMIL light FFILs candle.

send your family my condolences!

I'm so sorry for your loss.

We will probably do a small memorial table with pictures of our grandparents, one of FH's cousin's who passed in 9/11, and my uncle who passed last year.

I'm so sorry for your loss!!

We haven't really discussed what we're doing yet but I will def. have those little memorial frames on my bo-k. One for my grandma & one for my aunt. Not sure if FH wants to do anything for his fam memebers. We still have to discuss it. I don't want anything that will upset any of the guests so I think the bo-k frames are a perfect little memorial for me to have. We may have the priest say a short prayer at the end of the ceremony for those who couldn't be there with us that day.

Sorry for your loss

Honestly I would like to do something but at the same time then I would have to do something for my grandma and she just wasn't good to me when she was alive so I want to really commemorate her.

So I guess we won't be doing anything for anyone.

My grandmother passed away almost 5 years ago and left me a ring of hers... It's a beautiful ring and it fits me perfectly (weird because nothing else of hers ever fit me), and I think I'm going to wear it on my right hand in honor of her. FH's mom passed away almost 7 years ago but he doesn't want to have a picture of her or anything because he says it'll just make him start thinking of her, and he wouldn't have as good of a time..

i am so sorry about your Grandpa.

I too lost my Grandpa last December and he was the closest family member to me. To be completely honest, every time I think about doing something to honor him at our wedding, I think about how i will feel when i look at whatever it is, i will totally lose it so i dont know yet if i will be ready enough to be able to handle it. i know though he will be in my heart and there in spirit if I unfortunately cant do anything.

Sorry for your loss!

We plan on putting an 'in memory of' section in our programs, probably 'reserving' a few seats in the church as a memory and playing their favorite song at the reception. We spoke to alot of our family members about doing something to see how emotional everyone would get. Everyone seemed OK and happy with what we are planning.
