What has been your most positive experience during the whole wedding planning process?
Mine was definitely shopping for my dress, with my RH in close second. Stephanie at Fantasia Bridal was wonderful! I am plus size and she made me feel so beautiful! I tried on maybe 5 dresses and I went with the first one, which wasn't even one I thought I would have liked. Stephanie has to lace that sucker up and take me out of it (it is a corset closure) like, 4 times because I couldn't make up my mind! Also, my dress was discontinued so I had to race over there after work one day to be sized (it is an hour from my house with no traffic), and I freaked out because I left work late and barely made it. She even said she would have waited for me because she couldn't believe it was being discontinued. At first when I pulled up to it, I wasn't very impressed because it was small, but I definitely learned to never judge a book by its cover!!

picking the venue...I sort of went about it the wrong way but RH stepped in and said I know where you will love...we went to Fox Hollow and he was right and when we were in the room where it will all take place he looked at me said this is where you will become my wife..sort of sappy but it really meant a lot and felt really good..

Hmmmm....
For me personally, probably weddings dress shopping. I was so scared of stepping in a bridal salon. I had been bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding two years ago, and DB tried to tell me I grew 3-inches in my bustline in less than two months. Apparently that's why my dress didn't fit, despite havign the same weight to the pound. I was afraid of dealing with more of the same. Antonella who help me at the Bridal Suite of Bay Shore was soooo sweet, was great at making light conversation, but talking about wedding, dresses and what was flattering - not giving me 'you're too big to fit in the dress' because I'm a jean size 10/12.
Venue was awesome as a couple. I saw it and thought it was a great setting given what we were looking for, but FH's eyes when he saw the room for the first time (I had been there before) was priceless. Then they invited prospective couples to a sit-down dinner/mini-tasting. To be left alone to sit, eat dinner in the venue and sort of judge whether its the atmosphere you want - was priceless.

I can't pick just one thing. Everything has been fun and exciting. Shopping around for a venue was such a great time with our families. Meeting and choosing our photographer, videographer, etc were all great experiences. And we had such an amazing time taking our engagement pictures!

Finding our venue, Floral Terrace, and finding my dress so quickly! I think the most fun things are yet to come as we take our engagement photos, set up our website and get our STDs out!

WOW! So many of us have had such similar experiences. Well, while everything has been quite stressful, and not always fun, I think each decision that has been made, once it was signed and final and all the choosing stress melts away, has been great. After seeing 13 venues with my FH, yes he came to all of them which was not my original plan, we were starting to become discouraged because when I loved something he didn't and when he did, I hated it. When we walked into our venue, we both looked at eachother and just smiled. We finally loved something togehter and that was a great feeling. Whenever I get frustrated during this entire process, I think of that moment and it helps me breathe.

My parents live in Florida so they haven't seen my venue or dress yet. They are actually coming up today and we are all going to pick up my dress tomorrow and I'm going to try it on. They are also going to see my venue while they are up here. Through out this whole process I felt sad because they weren't here to participate so I think them being here and seeing everything is going to be the best part thus far.

I loved venue shopping! It was so much fun to tour different places and look at packages. And it's so true, you really do get a feeling when you find the place. We didn't want to look anywhere else. Also, I loved doing our engagement shoot :)

I actually hated venue shopping...we went to 10 venues and doing all the research was so exhausting. Dress shopping has been very exciting and i'm looking forward to my Kleinfeld's appointment in a few weeks!
In general i've mostly enjoyed browsing the internet and all the wedding magazines for ideas...putting together all the little details and seeing it all come together is pretty amazing!

Mine had to be dress shopping. I went with my mom, MOH, and FMIL and we had a great day in the city! I was so happy about my dress choice and everyone in the store LOVED it just as much as I did! I am also hoping my engagement pictures will be a blast (FH thinks it is going to be awkward posing)
