QOTD 8/23/12 - Changing it up!

What's your favorite part about living in Long Island, or just Long Island in general?

I love that where I live, there is just the right amount of bustle. Nothing too busy, but not farmland, either. I also love having block parties and the streets are really made for it in a lot of places with the grid style streets!

I love that there's so much to do and see right on Long Island (good shopping, beaches, fun bars and restaurants, etc.) but New York City, one of the best cities in the world, is only an hour or so away! Long Island has so much beauty in it...you can find anything you want!

I just don't like the taxes bahh!

i loved growing up on long island, right in the middle of the island between the city and the hamptons, now i live in the hamptons right down the road from the beach and I love it out here its like a vacation everytime i go home!

I have been on Long Island for about 7 years I guess and although I don't hate it I'm not exactly in love with it..think I have just become use to it. I am more of an urban girl than suburban girl and I guess that will always be in me. But I do agree with other post it is beautiful.

I like how strategic it is. The city is right here, we have beaches, and if you come out by where I live you've got woods and nature, not to mention the farms and wineries out east. You really couldn't ask for more (besides lower taxes maybe...)

ITA! i remember visiting a friend in virginia a few years ago and asked to go to the beach and she said it was a 5.5 hour drive!!! i could never....love the beach!

I love living on Long Island because it has everything you can ask for. The beach, the city, farmland, and the mountains are a quick trip upstate. There's no place else like it. OH! And the bars are open until 4am!!!!
