Thanks Msj288 for making me bride of the week. I'm hoping I will be able to keep up with this, crazy work week coming up! Anyways, I'll try to think of some questions to ask, hope not too many of them are repeats, I'm not familiar with this part of the board.
I guess my first QOTD comes from the fact that I was stuck in a car with my future in-laws today for about an hour each way to visit FHs grandmother.
Has your relationship with your future in-laws changed since you got engaged?
On my end, I noticed that my FMIL seemed more friendly with me before FH proposed. Once we got engaged, I have noticed she treats me differently. Making little remarks to me so FH can't hear. On the other hand, today was the first time in 2 years FH's grandmother actually hugged me and treated me like part of the family.

QOTD - Long Island Weddings
I don't think my relationship with future in-laws has changed too much, We all got along very well before if anything now they definately consider me part of the family.

QOTD - Long Island Weddings
I don't think my relationship has changed. If anything I would say that his family is even nicer to me.....and sometimes I'm super stressed with wedding planning and the house that I find it annoying lol but they are great and I love them!
I'm blessed to say I've had a great relationship with FILs and it has only gotten better since being engaged. They are so welcoming and treat me like one of their own. My FMIL and FFIL came to LI this weekend for dinner with my family and I kept saying lucky we are to have such supportive families who get along splendidly. Our families getting closer brings me a lot joy

ours has changed a little bit recently.. I'm really close with my FMIL and we get along great.. maybe the wedding stuff is bringing out weird sides of all of us, but i've noticed that she makes digs here and there..
My FMIL wants us to do all of these traditional wedding things that we just don't want to do- She HATES that I am wearing blue shoes, that i'm not wearing a blusher on my veil, and that we aren't doing a full mass. She also didn't agree that my mom decided to keep me in the loop about the shower. My sister knew about her shower and she loved that it was nice and laid back and she didn't have to make this huge entrance and stuff. I'm the exact same way and I'm really happy that my mom is on the same page. but my FMIL wished it were more traditional..oh well lol

I hated my FMIL before we got engaged. Nothing's changed. If anything, her disrespect of me has gotten worse, I don't know if it's deliberate or not. But I don't even want her at the wedding. I suck it up for FH but every time I do, it's like knives in my throat.
Now, FFIL and his wife are amazing. We've always been close, and nothing has changed there. We just got home from spending the weekend with them. They're the best.

My FMIL has always been very supportive of me, and even when FH and I were on the outs, always was there for me. We've been together for 9 years, and she's treated me like one of her own children from the very beginning. After we got engaged, she was even better. I know how lucky I am, and I'm grateful that I am marrying into such a wonderful family.

It has been the same, good so far though. FI's family is all over the US and he's lucky if he gets to see his parents more than once a year. They recently came up to NY a few months ago which was the 2nd time I've seen them but FI talks about us so much to his parents and vice versa that its all good. Everyone is super excited about the wedding

Re: QOTD
Mine has not changed much with his parents. We got along great from Day 1. We were together 4 years at the time of engagement. We both noticed a change in my dad though. Like he realized how serious we were at that point. Not that he didn't think we were before but now even more so. My mom always treated him like a son.

I feel like nothing's changed. I've been with FH for almost 7 years so we've always been close. I think if anything, now they drive me crazyyyyy haha

I hear what you are saying. I think wedding planning is stressful on everyone. I know my FILs are the nicest people but they have their 2 cents about everything (like me not wearing heels for the wedding or my FFIL not wanting to wear a gray tux) but my FH is their only child so this wedding is as big of a deal for them as it is for us. They've always told me I'm the daughter they always wanted so in that regard they've always been nice to me. They just voice their opinions haha

Re: QOTD
Same here - I am just so lucky to have amazing in-laws. Since the wedding planning has begun, its gotten even better. Since my fam is in CT, the two sets of parents haven't spent much time together - but, both our moms are actually making an effort to get together now, whether it be to go with me to the bridal salon, or to shop for their own dresses, etc.....its really nice to see. Nothing has really changed. Well, last week FH dad (whose not the emotional, mushy type) actually asked me if I would consider calling him dad. It was so sweet - I had no idea he would even care
