Hey girls. Unfortunately we missed a day, but I'll try to keep this a good week! Hoping that Lindsay gets her power back soon!

Today's QOTD is, how did you and your FH begin dating? Tell us your love story!

Here's our story. My FH and I work together. He was planning a vacation with his brother to Italy. He was in my office talking to me about some work stuff, and we ventured off topic. He mentioned about how he was excited about his trip. I told him that was my dream vacation, and why didn't he invite me. He laughed, and told me I was welcome to join him. I had to pass on the very nice offer though. When he was away, he sent me a facebook message with a link to his website with all his vacation pictures, telling me to check it out. I wrote him a flirty note back. He continued to write me every day about his adventures, and we began to get to know each other a lot better. I felt like we could talk about anything. Every note grew more and more like a 'love note' In the 2 weeks he was gone, I knew more about him than I knew about many people I knew for years. We ended up having about 80 pages worth of love notes by the end of vacation. As soon as he got back, he came over for a small get together with a few of my friends, and we have been together ever since!

I was out at a local bar one night to have a drink with some girlfriends and FH was up there also after a Fire Department meeting with some of his guy friends watching the Islanders game......Him and his friends were sitting up at the bar, and my friends and I were sitting at a booth. I happened to get up to go to the bathroom, on my way back to my seat I was watching the game and the Islanders scored. I let out a little cheer......and he looked at me and he said, ' are you and Islanders fan???' and I said Yes! and we started talking about the Islanders. I then told my girlfriends to come up to the bar and sit and they did........and that was the start of our relationship!!! We went on our first official date 4 days later..

So of course now that we are getting married its only right that we have a 'Islander Themed Wedding'

we met on POF, hence my username! We chatted on email and phone for about 2 weeks and then met at the Library Cafe for drinks and dinner.

Met at a bar, when I was leaving he asked for my number, I thought you couldn't meet a serious guy at a bar lol so I said no if you really want to take me out find me again and ill give you my number, when I got home I had a new fb friend request lol, we went out that week and have been together since.

we met at a bar, it was an Anti Valentines Day thing going on at the bar. He tried to pick me up with a magic trick, removing his thumb lol and then we proceeded to get VERY drunk.

neither of us was actually looking for anything more then a hook up, i was in the middle of a very fun BF strike actually lol

We met on match. He emailed me something short, sweet and to the point, it was perfect. He asked me to meet for drinks sometime so I emailed him back and we picked a date a couple days later. I rushed there from work and honestly didn't think I'd get to go. At the time I had a job as a personal assistant and I always had to be working and I had to go back to work that night. So we chatted and had an amazing time as short as it was. He asked me to dinner and I said definitely so a couple days later he took me out to an awesome place and then to a bar. Our date lasted 6 hours. We were so comfortable together and had plenty to talk about. It was so easy. I was pretty hesitant at first, I liked him but for whatever reason I was holding back. Even when I told him I was unsure of how I felt, he totally accepted me and we worked it out and took things slowly. A week later we had a date at his apartment and since then we've been inseperable!

We met on match,com. We emailed and talked on the phone for a while and then we went out on our first date. Best first date ever!

The first month or so that we were dating we were both on different trips so we did not get to see each other that often but we both new this was it!

Barb I love your story! It sounds like it could be like a Julia Roberts movie or something lol. And Kelley I can't believe the luck of yours! If you hadn't let out your little cheer who knows?!! Crazy!!!



FH and I all began in Oct. of 2004. We were both at Binghamton University... I was a sophomore he was a freshman. He lived in my building but I'd never seen him before and vice versa. Facebook had just become available to us... He sent me a message saying 'You're hot!' ... I was like ***. lol
We msged a little and moved things to AIM. A few giggly IMs later I was being shoved down the stairs by my suitemates to go and flash him my tattoo... the rest is history.

FH and I met through friends while we were in High School. We were friends for about 2 years until we started to see 'something more'. We started dating our senior year of high school and even went to each other's proms. After getting to know eachother I was talking to his mom and mentioned that my dad went to Holy Trinity HS which is where she went. Turns out my dad and his mom were best friends in High School and fell out of touch when they graduated. Now they're back to being friends again. Talk about a small world!

The way we met is a very cute story but I may be a little bias. We met through our best friends who have been dating for years-I actually introduced the two of them. On Halloween 2009 I was planning on staying home & doing nothing since i had just broken up with my then boyfriend. I wasn't heartbroken or anything it was a short relationship but the guy was acting like a jerk & driving me nuts-I'm sure you ladies can relate lol. But my girlfriend wouldn't hear of it (Halloween is her favorite holiday) so her & her boyfriend decided to come to Queens to hang out with me at a local bar. When we are on our way there they mention their friend Fred is meeting us there- he lives in the area too. I think nothing of it & don't think anything of it the entire night. He was handsome & a nice guy but I had just broken up with someone.

We all go home & my friend starts texting me the next morning to see if I want to meet up to watch the Giants game that day. Apparently Fred had been drunk texting her all night asking her questions about me & wanting us all to meet up again so he could hang out with me lol. I think my friend is over exaggerting & think why not a friend in the area couldn't hurt. Well it ended up being just me & Fred watching the game-our friends never showed up. The rest is history- we have been inseperable since then & apparently he was throwing his best flirting moves at me the night we met (according to him) but I wasn't noticing. He even admitted much later he was telling guys we were together that night so they wouldn't talk to me lol.

Phil and I actually met at our college freshman orientation. Considering freshman orientation is a pre-party to college, word spread quickly about a party occurring in one of the dorm rooms. I knew he would be there so I convinced my friend (and future roommate) Maria to come with me so I could go meet up with him. Maria and I walked down the hall, walked into the party, said hello to Phil and were literally in the room for 2 seconds before the Orientation Leaders knocked on the door. Phil went to the door, let the 'party police' in, walked out and away from the trouble and left Maria and I to fend for ourselves (which later resulted in 8 hrs of college community service). I still remind him of this on a daily basis :)

Phil and I wound up living on the same floor (4th) of our dorm freshman year so we visited each others rooms frequently. He actually had a gf from home but they broke up and then him and I hooked up a few times but when he got back with her, he ended things with me - we still remained friends throughout school though.

Fast forward to a year and a half after graduation, I was in the city for sushi one night with some of my friends and his former roommate called me to meet up with them at McFadden's (where they were watching the Mets post-season game) so I met up with them afterwards. Phil and I started talking and he walked me to my car at the end of the night. Before I said goodnight he said that we should get together again sometime and we did two weeks later and here we are today...

I was depressed because of a broken up engagement. You know stay home and sulk. Well I was graduating college and realized I should try to enjoy and celebrate this occasion. My first step was to go out and watch spiderman 3, but I had no one to go with. I wrote on myspace back when it was cool if anyone wanted to go with me. A old friend from elementary had just sent me a friend request a few times before I remembered who he was. He said that we should go to the movies together with FH who I went to middle school with. I decided it would be best to hang out with them before hand to see how they were like since I never used to hang out with them before.

This guy sent me a video of them being fools together and instantly I became attracted to FH. I never saw that side of him before and saw only his super shy quiet side. So when we remet sparks ignited and bam got over my ex.

Met at work and yesterday was six years since I had met him. LOL We both worked nights at the King kullen that I still work at and we bumped into eachother i was going on way and he was going the other way and i knocked over a display and he had helped me clean it up. LOL

Aww you're too sweet. I bet we can make a movie. Maybe one of the LIW girls can explore film-making?? We have a great engagement story too, perfect for a movie

FH and I also met on Match.com I had just moved down to Maryland and was living with 3 of my guy friends from college, so I gave match a try. Funny thing is, I had to extend my age requirements for FH profile to show up. His name was Dancing 6'7'. Being 6' myself, his height definitely stood out to me. So I 'winked' at him. And he emailed me back and we emailed for a few days, then began talking on the phone and eventually met for a date. We went to Uno's for dinner and Annapolis for drinks. Best first date ever and we've been together ever since!

We were introduced by our two best friends while at the Cinna-nut stand in the Smithaven Mall. We began dating 2 months later when we met again at my friends birthday party at Medieval Times.

I actually walked up to Justin in a bar! I asked why he was standing silent in a corner and his reply?

'I dont want to talk about bulls*t'

So I asked what he did want to talk about, and him, thinking I was another bimbo, said 'Physics'

So there is began at Town Tavern on west 3rd street with a two hour conversation about physics.

we traded numbers and the rest was history.

Our first REAL date he took me on a drive to the beach and brought blankets since it was so cold outside, then we bought a little bottle of wine, went back to his house and watched 'what the bleep is this' I knew I was in love that first night.
