When you got engaged, did your families agree on the traditions like bride's family pays for wedding & groom's family pays for engagement party, rehearsal dinner, honeymoon?

Our families had different views about the wedding. My parents, being from Russia, didn't know all the American rules & FH's parents said they would pay for engagement party & rehearsal dinner. After a long conversation & my father telling us to get married in Vegas to save money, FH's parents agreed to pay as much as my parents were giving us.
No mention of honeymoon though lol

I personally don't believe in these traditional obligations. I always said, no matter if I have a daughter or a son, I will help them pay for their wedding regardless.

There wasn't a bunch of discussion about it. My parents are paying about 25% of the wedding and some of the honeymoon and the engagement party. His parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner and gave us some money for the honeymoon.

No discussion was had. FH and I are paying for everything ourselves.

My mother and FH's mother paid for our engagement party and his mom also paid for our venue and is paying for the centerpieces. My mother is paying for my dress and the limos. His father is giving us a nice chunk of change to go towards whatever and my father is paying for the rehearsal dinner. So our out of pocket shouldn't be too bad.

There was really no discussion. My parents, FH parents, and us split the engagement party 3-ways. My parents are paying for the hall and they paid for my dress. His parents gave us a sum of money that they could at the engagement party to use for whatever we wanted. FH parents are also paying for the church and rehearsal dinner. We been really lucky with their help.

my fam gave me a budget to use as i wished, which was very generous...but is basically paying for reception (granted we're having a mansion style wedding, i could have went cheaper)...vendors fell on us and honeymoon fell on us...rehearsal dinner is TBD because FH's father isnt in the picture and his mother doesnt have anything to her name really...

We didn't have any discussion but my parents are paying for the reception and my dress. FHs dad isnt in the picture much so he isn't contributing anything and his mom was a single mother who raised her 2 kids alone so she doesn't have much to contribute but will probably pay for the rehearsal dinner which is very sweet of her. We are paying for the rest.

I think both families should contribute to the wedding but my parents had 5 girls and paid for all of the weddings

my parents don't agree with giving to the bride only so my brothers and I will each get monetary amounts to use towards the wedding whatever way we like. Not sure about FH's family yet... we are planning on paying more than 50% on our own

Thee was no discussion. We are paying for the wedding ourselves. My parents paid for my dress and my mom is making my favors. His mother is not paying for anything and is not really involved in our lives (her choice cause she doesnt like me). His father hasnt paid for anything but he calls and talks to FH and cares about us which makes my FH super happy so that is a gift in itself plus I dont think he has alot of money.
