QOTD! :)
Hi Ladies! This is my first QOTD so I'm hoping it's not a repeat! I'm totally supposed to be doing work for school right now but I always get distracted and end up procrastinating with wedding planning lol Anyway I know that some of you have certain traditions you're keeping and others that you prefer not to do. Like I know some brides now choose to see the groom before the ceremony like a sort of pre-ceremony reveal. I think that could be a great idea and some great pictures/videos could come out of that. So here's my question to all of you:For your wedding, what traditions are you keeping/breaking?

QOTD! :)
I am the same as RCotter. I am not going to do the garter/bouquet toss. It is my least favorite part to all weddings.

QOTD! :)
It's so interesting to see what everyone is deciding to keep/break lol. I will bekeeping:
- Father-Daughter dance (FH mom unfortunately passed away last yr - R.I.P.)
- Probably going to do the unity sand thing since I sort of have a minor phobia of fire/lit candles
- Cake cutting
- Dad walking me down the aisle
- Bouquet toss
- Bridal Party
- Writing our own vows (although this may be more of a choice than tradition)
- Not seeing each other before the ceremony
Breaking:
- 'Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue'. Never really understood the point of this anyway
- No garter toss. Absolutely hate this part of weddings! I've been scarred one too many times by seeing this. Seems like something that should be private (not in front of the kids x_x!) Anyway - just my take on it. No slight to any ladies who want to incorporate it in their wedding

- Mix-Match Bridesmaid gowns
- No ring bearer (didn't know they don't actually carry the rings! Ring bearer at my sister's wedding just carried an empty pillow! -__-')
And I think there may be more I'm breaking too haha
Undecided:
- May or may not have traditional 'cliche' dances - Electric slide, cotton eyed joe, cupid shuffle, etc. They seem really corny lol but they do get people up to dance for a while. Looking for an alternative though

QOTD! :)
After reading all these posts...can I keep the bouqet toss and the garter toss but skip the part where the guy puts the garter on the random girl. I always find it soo awkward to watch!! Lol. Would it be weird to still do the tosses and leave out the last part???

Absolutely! I've been to a few weddings where they did this. Much less awkward lol

I don't see why not. This way you get to keep most of the tradition, minus the most awkward part!

Agreed! I always wondered if it would be weird to just do a bouquet toss and nothing else. But then I thought...'Hey, this is MY wedding! I do what I want!!!'
