Yesterday I started my hunt for invitations. I went to one place and couldn't believe the prices for the invitations I liked ranged from $600-$1400.

If you have already picked out your invitations or are still looking, what are the most important qualities you are looking for?

I am starting to research this now ... I'm an invitation snob. I think they set the tone for the event you're holding. I am willing to spend more on them to make sure I get the kind I want. I want something unique, artistic, and modern. No calligraphy for me!

I've just begun this odyssey. I didn't know what I wanted, but then I saw these gorgeous invitations at the bridal show last week with lace and fell in love! The only thing I'm not into is rhinestones!

I'm making my own invitations because I wanted pocketfolds but didn't want to pay a crazy amount for them.

Wow! Where did you go? I'm looking for simple and beautiful! I don't want to spend a lot of money when people are just going to throw them out..

I was SO picky with invitations, I hated every single sample I saw. I ordered maybe 20 samples off Etsy.

I needed something that was elegant and classy, but had a modern twist.

We met with Jessica Leigh and I fell in love with the first invitation I saw, as I was telling her 'I have no idea what I want.'

Our invitations are PERFECT. They're our personalities, they're our wedding, they're the paper version of my dress. I look at them and see our wedding. I couldn't be happier!

Invitations are something that I don't want to stress about. My mom has great taste so she said she wants me to come with her, but she'll take care of them for us. I really lucked out there! However, the only thing that I definitely want included is both of our parents.

I want something very simple... vintage and elegant... and inexpensive. I think we're thinking of doing our own because we have the ability.

I'm not crazy about pockets but I really have no idea what I want.

I had the genius idea of BOTH FH and I to order 10 samples when a place was doing 10 free samples.... so we EACH got 10 that we liked without telling the other one... and neither of us picked the same one... Or even anything remotely similar.

Invitations will probably be the death of me.

I wanted something cute and simple. I found 10 that I really liked that had our color scheme and had them send me samples. I picked my favorite, handed them to FH and he picked his favorite. It was the SAME one, done and done! LOL

Honestly, I want the most inexpensive ones I can find. As some of you may know, I've been VERY picky about every one of my vendors, seeing more than 10 of most before making any decision. But when it comes to saving money, I think that invitations is one place I can manage to do this. Besides my mother and FH's mother, no one else is going to save them. They'll hold onto them until the wedding (if they save them that long), and then they'll go in the garbage. I've even been tossing around the idea of DIY ones. But haven't decided if I'm brave enough to take that on!

I went to the bridal expo last year and saw jessica Leigh paperie and loved the lace invites she had. It was way to early to order them though, so I kept her card and called about a year later. We ordered them last month. I'm so excited to see how they turn out!!!
