Since being engaged and figuring out colors and themes and the over all atmosphere of your wedding did you change yours a few times?
If so what did you think of doing before and what are you doing now?
Why did you pick what you did?

Re: QOTD 9/24/08
before i got engaged, when i was doing things for my sisters shower, i saw an invite that was chocoloate brown and green. i was in LOVE. i told FH (boyfriend at the time ) and we starting joking about those being our colors and how its like mint chocolate chip and then we added ice cream! because i LOVE mint chocolate chip ice cream. so we have been refering to our wedding as having mint chocolate chip ice cream since before we got engaged. i even have our budget named 'mint chocolate chip'
we haven't changed much. we want really simple and intimate and we have really kept with that theme.

In the begining I was going to use Green w/ bright color flowers I was thinking more a spring wedding.
When we decided to have an 10/17/09 wedding I decided that I didn't want to use the green because I didn't want tradtional fall color flowers.
So my colors are dark purple w/ silver accents. I am so excited that I went with. I love the ideas we have come up with for flowers!!

Since I was a little girl I always thought I would have pink as my color and of course I am not even close to using the color pink. My best friend was just married in August and she used pink so I didn't want to do the same thing. So I picked blue, it's FH's favorite color and the girls look great in it. Other than that everything else has been pretty much as I always pictured.

Re: QOTD 9/24/08
in the beginning when we decided on a december/christmas wedding i wanted a taupe colored bridesmaid dress, burgundy flowers and a real rich vicotrian christmas vibe - and like pine and holly centerpieces, lots of candles, stuff like that....
well....
we did change some things...
bridesmaids are still wearing taupe - flowers will still be burgundy and up until the reception everything will have that old world christmas vibe - and the entire hall is decorated for the holidays, fireplaces are on, christmas trees - so it will feel like the holidays - but the actual reception we are changing things up a bit to more of a winterwonderland party vibe - we are doing blue uplighting all around the perimeter of the room, half the the centerpieces are going to be branches, with hanging crystals and hanging votives, the other half will be white roses and lots of candles - so the decor and ambiance will be very different....im glad we changed our idea a little bit - only 72 more days!

Re: QOTD 9/24/08
we started as a full blown military wedding with navy blue and peridot.
Then as time went by and we realized all the etiquette and headaches that come along with the invites and seating and all the other formal military wedding stuff( i even got a few books to help me with all the craziness) it was just not worth the aggravation since he was going to be away for most of the planning anyway.
We saw the peridot color in person and HATED IT it just wasn't at all like it was online..... Then we switched to navy with lilac
After seeing the lilac next to navy we HATED IT after that we were like ok lets find a some what neutral color to go with the navy.... Then we picked champagne.
So now we are doing a navy and champagne wedding with bits of Army stuff here and there with some what of a champagne theme.
wow we have a lot going on I just hope it's not too much

YES!!! at first we wanted to do pink ... then we booked Leonards and everything was cream and gold and rich colors ... so then I couldnt find a BM in pink that I like and then we switched the flowers from pinks and creams to all white and creams so finally I switched the BMs to gold! LOL so my theme is now ivory and gold!

Re: QOTD 9/24/08
At first I wanted a christams wedding, with reds and golds and greens, but then we found a rh that was more affordable than we thought, and they just had a cancellation for a day in august, the day is our anniversary of of our first date! So now we are going to be getting married on our five year anniversary! So needless to say I changed our colors, they are similar just more summery versions, sage, champange, and pale pink!

I was going to do blue...kinda a cobalt blue with silver accents. Then I saw the cover of Martha Stewart weddings Collectors edition and the cover had pick and lime green. I fell in love with the green. I hate pink though so we decided on red and lime green.

Re: QOTD 9/24/08
are you guys ready for a list! so first when we got engaged i wanted to do a fall themed wedding! then everyone said i wasnt fall so i change to
pink then tiffany blue, then champagne, then brown and pink, then back to tiffany blue, then to black and fuschia, then black to white that stuck for a little while then i decided i really wanted fall i love the weather and the rustic feel so i decided to do wine dresses with fall flowers and fall accents.
shouldve stayed with my first choice lesson learned !
