It's the one thing everyone asks you after 'what's the date??' and 'where are you getting married?'.

It's all about the dress! What I'm curious about is if the dress you bought is the dress you envisioned yourself in for so long, or if it's a total 180. And, if you haven't bought your dress yet, what do you picture yourself in?

I always pictured myself in a big poofy princess dress. And guess what...that's exactly what I got!

I came close to going for a lace mermaid style, but when all was said and done, it was the one time in my life I could pull off the ball gown and I just couldn't pass it up.

And the dress I ended up with is PERFECT. I couldn't be happier!

This is the dress I pictured myself in. It's lace and fitted. I love it!

I always knew I wanted a lace gown that was semi-fitted, but not fitted all the way down. When I went to the store I printed out 4 or 5 pics of dresses I liked, and I ended up buying one of the dresses I initially picked out online. So I ended up getting exactly what I thought I would like. It is an all lace dropped waist a-line gown :)

My dress is one that I ripped out of a magazine when we first got engaged too. I didn't realize until I tried it on that it was the same one. it's a satin mermaid with beaded accents and a very long train. Absolutely love it. :)

My dress is exactly the opposite of what I thought I wanted. I originally wanted either a short tea-length dress or I wanted a flowy, more Greecian(sp?) type dress. Something all tulle with an empire waist to hide the belly. I didn't want any pick ups, I didn't want satin, and I didn't want beading. Also... No long ridiculous train.

I tried on THE dress initially as a joke. I saw it on the hanger and I thought it was gaudy. It has a full beaded corset bodice with a dropped waist. It has a satin pick up type draping on one side with satin roses lining the edge. The bottom is lace and tulle and it has a chapel train.

It is everything I didn't want and it's absolutely perfect. I have never felt so perfect in something. I cannot wait to wear it!!

it was the exact opposite of the dress i pictured myself in. i always envisioned a huge princess ballgown with sleeves or straps of some kind, and i ended up with the complete opposite. i have done the big poufy ballgown before - for proms and sweet sixteen, so i wanted something more sophisticated and unexpected for me. and i'm in love!

i purchased the Lazaro 3152. It is NOT the dress I pictured myself in. I always wanted a mermaid and something ultra sexy. However, I gave it thought before my purchase and decided I needed something elegant, sexy, and just WOW. My dress is exactly that! :)

Total 180! I knew I wanted to take up space. I wanted a big poofy ballgown with a super-tight, fitted bodice, and an enormous train. I wound up with a super-tight, fitted mermaid, with a cathedral train. My veil is a cathedral as well, a few inches longer than my dress, so I definitely still take up space.

I had never envisioned myself in a wedding dress before. I mean I had entertained the idea but had never seriously stopped to think about it. Even when engaged. Then finally in late August I said, let's start looking. I guess I wanted to get it over with? I've never been a get glammed up gal. But lo and behold I enjoyed trying on dresses immensely.

I pictured myself in something poofy when I began to look but ended up not feeling like myself in it. Earlier this month, I said yes to the dress :) Pics are in my album.

My dress is exactly what I envisioned. I wanted something to show off my shape and I knew poofy would make my hips look bigger. So i wound up with a trumpet style with rushing and just enough detail. The one difference is I wanted a sweetheart neckline but my dress isn't sweetheart.

It is literally EXACTLY the type of dress I pictured myself in - and actually the first dress I tried on! I didn't want to be close-minded so I tried on a bunch in all different styles, which only confirmed what I already knew about the way they would look or the way I thought I would feel in them. I'm having my dress altered in a few areas and adding a few things to make it my own, but the original dress is exactly what I always imagined I would wear and I love it!

I never knew what kind of dress I wanted so when I was looking at dresses I tried everything and anything on. I ended up getting an all lace dress. My mom said it was the complete opposite what she thought I was going to get!

I wasn't one of those girls that envisioned my wedding dress since I was a tomboy. I wanted something fitted, but ended going fitted and poofy lol. It just felt right

I was looking at somewhat traditional aline dresses with short sleeves.. I ended up in a plain gown no train and I added a belt for bling.. it was totally opposite of what I was picking out.
