Amanda, I am cracking up right now!

I hate thinking about death but we have talked about it. I want to be put in a mausoleum (I know a diva even after i'm gone ). Although I respect everyone elses wishes, I personally could never imagine cremating someone. We watched my great grandmother's creamating last year and it mentally scarred me. When my other great grandmother died, we buried her but it had been raining for like 3 days before she died and there was sooo much mud down in the hole. I freaked out at the burial over putting her white casket in all that mud. I really don't handle death well at all. I will just put FH in a mausoleum and I want one right next to him and my parents. I know they are expensive but i'm donating my organs and I just feel that it is my last wish.

Vaness....I'm so sorry you witnessed that! I didn't know they had family in to watch the cremation. Don't think I'd come out the same either. Love your mausoleum idea. I've seen some that are just amazing with all the detail. Cemeteries are quite beautiful if you take a look. The work that goes into these headstones and mausoleums is amazing! I saw a mausoleum once that had a stained glass window and a cross on the door. When the sun hit just right a cross appeared on the steps leading up to the mausoleum. It was awesome.

never really thought about it. i think fh might get a little freaked out if i ask him lol

i would like to be buried though

Thought I’d start my run as BOTW with a thought provoking and maybe morbid question. So, have you and FH discussed the “what if” of death? My parents recently purchased their plot….they only got one to save money. They will be buried on top of each other. My father said that if my mother goes first, he wants to be buried face down so they’ll be eternally in the missionary.

FH and I have discussed this. I had considered cremation until FH told me he wants to be buried. Mentioned the one plot idea and he liked it. You save money and you get to be together forever. First person is “planted” (as my father likes to say) 6 feet down, 2nd person is planted 4 foot down. He wants to be buried in Calverton so we’ll see what they allow.

I figure, if FH goes first and I decide to remarry, I’ll be buried on top of FH and husband #2 can be buried 4 feet down next to me so I’ll be eternally in a 3-way. You gotta think ahead!

i have no clue... hate talking about it... FH did say to me when he dies he wants everyone to have a big party since he was always making everyone laugh he doesnt want people sitting around crying!!


omg what was the movie....
the one where the husband died and he knew he was dying so he planned for his wife to recieve letters and flowers n stufff... that was so cute

yea it was pretty rough. they don't take the body out but they put the whole casket inside the oven thing and it is just too much. I could literally hear the inferno..can't take it.

my FH know exactly what i want... im sort of a planner and i want to make sure that when i do die... hopefully a VERY long time from now i get what i want... LOL

absolutely NO babys breath ANYWHERE!!!!
i want lots of FOOD and MUSIC!!!
and pictures EVERYWHERE!!! or me and my family and friends.

Yeah I'm not the only crazy one lol. Already told FH closed casket (totally freaks me out when people touch or kiss the body) lots of pictures, no flowers but charity donations, and LAUGHTER! I want them to remember my crazy a@@ not mourn it!

About 2 years ago I went to view an autopsy with a class I was taking...And lets just say FH knows for a fact that I NEVER want an autopsy or anything else like that done to my body after death. Some people had religious experiences going to see it, but I had a morbid, brain-eating, 'dont you use those bolt cutters on me' experience.

Yikes. know i could never sit through something like that. no way. hence the reason why i want a closed casket. yeah the body is there, but it's not the person anymore and i don't want people crying over an empty shell. i want them to remember me how i was when i was alive.
