Here is the first QOTD for this week ! ........................ If you could be back in High School again and think about what what your career goal would be, what would it be ?

If I were back in HS again, my career goal would still be to get my degree in Special Education. I did go to college for it for 2 years. I still to this day think about it, and wish I could have finished up school, but for so many reasons I left it and never went back ! ... who knows maybe one day I will do it again !!!!!!!!!!!

i would have pushed harder to stay in the flying program. Yes i flew i went to boces 1/2 the day to fly single engine planes. i took flying fundemental classes for a few years and 11th grade there was a program that took us to farmingdale airport twice a week we actually flew.
I ended up getting very sick paralized on my left side(no doctors ever gave me a actual diagnosis)i was in the hospital for 4 months and when i came back to school i was told the FAA would prob never allow me to fly again. If i knew then what i know now i would have faught harder to stay in the program. I would have had my private pilots licence by the time i graduated, gotten a scolarship to farmingdale, and do what i really wanted right now..... be a commercial pilot.

back when i was in HS all i wanted to be was a teacher
now i want to be a nurse! so i would def say i'd would go to boces durin HS for the nursing program, ...and at this point i'd already be a nurse

i think it would be the same. i might focus more on my writing, but that's more of a side project.
i think i could have been a photographer. I think i also could have been a pastry chef.
i don't know that i'd give up my job for either of these jobs tho.

First, Lisa you could totally go back and do this! !!!There are so many programs, esp for special ed that help you pay for this. Of course I don't know any of your life things that would make this hard - but hey - you can plan a wedding you can go back to school!!!
Me, I think I would focus more on the things I didn't believe I could do (and make a career our of- writing, film etc) tho I don't regret what I did (teaching) and am starting to explore other things.

When I was HS I wanted to get my degree in Lirbrary Media (yes it is a fancy name for Librarian). I wish I had pushed harder to go to a school that offered it as undergraduate program. I never finished my BA I only have an Associates degree. I wish I was more motivated to go back. I tried last spring but was not successful work got to busy...

I probably still would have went into Accounting.. The only difference is I would have done it immediately after high school instead of taking 5 years and 3 majors to make up my mind!

If i was in HS still I would have gone to Boces for the medical billing course...and i would have pushed myself to stay in college

I probably still would have become a lawyer, but I would have told my little self to take every single scholarship and avoid the massive debt that im in now

If I could go back my career goal would be teaching. I always wanted to be a teacher but I didn't follow through with it. I did go to college but maybe one day I will go back for teaching.

Back in HS all I wanted to do was to be a scientist - a virologist to be exact. I still wish that I could have done that... Damn you chemistry! So now I'm in Finance Great money, but microbiology is my love

I would still have gone for Psych, but I would of definitely had applied for a lot more scholarships and interned a lot more...also would have tried applying to some schools outside of NY...maybe Cali. Can't complain though, I love my alma mater.

i alwaysss wanted to be a teacher and here i am, a teacher! lol, i always thought i would teach gen education but now im teaching special ed and i honestly love it

I wouldn't change a thing. Even though I did not follow through with pre-med, it is what motivated me to go to Stony Brook. The memories I have from SBU are priceless and I would never trade it in for anything in this world. Plus, everything I learned there has def. helped me develop into the person I am today.

in HS I wanted to be a journalist, but looking back, if I could do it again, I would go straight into teaching, I'm doing my masters in education now, but it took me like 2 colleges and 5 majors to figure it out!!

I wanted to be a teacher and I'm a teacher now. I'm pretty happy with my career but a little part of me would really love to have gone to culinary school.
